I wasn't pressing any button to make the keeper come out, only button I was pressing was to make the defender press to try and win the ball.
Oh, and pressing Y will do naff all on my version cause I've got PS3
Blades v Pigs has been my first game on all the FIFA's I've had.....oh, and NEVER play the Snortbeasts until you're comfortable with the changes

My OH has Fifa09... does he NEED Fifa10??? Will it be that much of a better game? Honestly?! Or should I save my money and buy him beer instead? (And if you're reading this your opinion doesn't count I'm afraid)

Just played my first game on FIFA 10, Sheff Utd v Sheff Wed.
WTF is with the keepers?! Are they suicidal or something? Every time Wednesday attacked the keeper was rushing miles off of his line! It resulted in TooGay scoring!!!
I ended up getting Killa sent off later then Walker gave away a penalty in the last minute which TooGay scored. Final score, 2-0 to Grunters
And that's where I hope you switched off and then tonked them all over

Slightly off the FIFA topic but what is the best football game of all time. My vote would have to go to Sensible Soccer II on the Amega. Just class on the grass!

I was always hooked on Kick Off 3 and Super Soccer on the SNES.
Then after the SNES faded away I used to play FIFA 97 all the time on the PC.
Best game though has to be world cup 98.
And I guess my opinion is even less valid!
I'd like to think you have a slightly biased opinion, although a good one?!
anyone played the pro bit on fifa 10 i am now near end of my first season and captain of the mighty blades and had a few call ups for england this long ball thing works wonders blackys right all i do is look for the long ball to relish and its in lol

Bought FIFA10 as my first PS3 footy game in years.
I'm still on beginner as i've not played these things for ages.
Cracking game though. Started the management season and got beat by Reading 1st game, since then i've only lost a couple, conceded very few. But Knocked Plymouth for 5 away at the start of a winning streak.
Not bought any players yet. I'm a great believer in giving those around a chance. Although I sold Hendrie and loaned Billy out. Cotts was on the list but he's now a key part of the team.

My winning streak came to an abrupt end when the pigs scored a 90th min equaliser at the lane. From a corner!!!! Heads rolled for that one.
Wardy's attributes are spot on. It took over a dozen 1 on 1's for him to score!

What's the first football game you played where there wasn't a guaranteed way of scoring every single time?
That's the thing that's always ruined football games for me, and it seems to me that games have only started to play like real football compartively recently.
People used to rave about how kick off 2 played like real football, but aside from the quite unrealistic pace the game used to play at, you could always score by doing a delicate chip onto the bar from the edge of the box, and then sliding in for the rebound. Every time.
THis was following in the tradition of John Ritmans matchday 2 which a similar method worked with 100% accuracy.
The Man utd series on the amiga had a dodgy bug where you could guarantee a goal by running down the touchline and crossing the ball in right on the goalline. The keeper would dive at the foot of the near post and the ball would sail over the top, where there would always be an Owen-esque poacher to tap it in. Presumedly this worked because despite being the best looking footie title at the time, the programmers had neglected to put a goalie animation that jumped up to catch the ball when the goalkeeper was facing towards the screen.
You could always score in sensible world of soccer with a well worked corner routine that worked every time too.
The original Fifa on the Megadrive came close, but you could stand in front of the keeper as he kicked out, the ball would hit you and bounce back into the net, every bloody time.
From the demos of Fifa and PES i've played i'd say the new PES plays a slightly better game of football, but the crappy menus & presentation and pisspoor online play of previous games is edging me towards FIFA.
I used to love emlyn Hughes on both the speccy & C64, but saying they're the best titles ever is nostalgia gone mad.

Finally got round to starting a league on this, I'm top after 7 or 8 games, lost one, drawn one, won the rest. Henderson is the leading scorer in the league.
Bunn is shit, Quinn seems good, Treacy, Cotterill and Harper are all really good, Henderson is shit hot and Evans is a bit pants.

It beggars belief that, with all the inaccuracies and unpredictability of artificial intelligence, you can get United to the top of the league, yet Blackwell, dealing with real life scenarios and actual flesh and blood, can only achieve hanging on to a play-off place at roughly the same point in the season.
I think that maybe McCabe ought to start looking around for some bright, young computer whizz-kid to take us to the next level instead of persevering with this out of date style nuts and bolts coaching that Blackie and his ilk are peddling? You, and others, have proved that, even in a virtual world, it can't be that difficult to get us playing attractive, winning football. Unfortunately that is something Blackwell, even in the relative comfort of the real world, has failed to master.
Over to you Mr McCabe....

Quinn has been rotting in the reserves during my pro-season.
Sold Speed ASAP as I was guessing he would retire after like 1 season. Managed to sell him to Reading and they rarely play him.
