In court yesterday the two sides ignored each other, no chat nor pleasantries and at each break the two sides scurried off to their consultation rooms. Deffo looked like not being friends, adversarial and likely to go on for a long long time with neither seeking a compromise. The 20 or so legal people in there must be loving all this on their mega day rates as things progressed at snails pace.

What this needs is not a court case but mediation to find a deal which saves face for both sides but I formed the impression both sides are too stubborn and have too much pride to back down. Ultimately not good for the team.

Bit I hadn't realised until yesterday and if I understood it right from several snippets yesterday is allegedly there was a deal on the table in front of all parties to sell us in 2017 whereby Saleh ? et al would pay about 31 million for a 50% share, leaving HRH with 25% and the McCs 25%, assuming this was players and assets bundled together from other bits said.

It didn't happen and my guess is the terms for the assets were unacceptable to some.

I don't see a settlement unless someone comes in with a mindblowing offer for both parties' shares and assets.

Within the past month the value has shot up by some £60m ( according to the KM agreement with the Americans)
Surely within that extra 'windfall' value there can be room for a win/ win agreement for both parties. Then we could all look forward not back.

Since the owners first fell out the value of the club has gone up even more than that £60m. At first they were arguing over a club worth a fraction in comparison to now.

Tom. The first quote refers to the value of the club and the way it has escalated from when the quarrel started and the present day. They were arguing over peanuts at first and now it's about a multiple in the value of the shares in the company.

As regards the club 'losing out'. Forget a number, I only ever said the £20m was a rumour. That's what happens when somebody keeps saying I stated it as a fact, they even start believing it themselves. I repeat I have not found any reassurances that it's a lot more than that though.

I maintain my view that our club is not in a position to invest in the squad at levels a committed owner or the new American owners would be doing if they were already in charge, or even if KM was in sole charge. The dispute brings serious complications in all sorts of ways, not least the fact that both current owners are unlikely to be with us in a years time, never mind the medium term. They do not have a vested interest in the medium term. Yes they need to protect their asset but there's a world of difference between that in this limbo period and proper building investment in the future.

You're right that Wilder has a budget and is getting on with his plans. I'd be surprised if he thinks it's enough. I wouldn't be surprised if he says it isn't in due course when negotiations stall with agents. Hopefully I'm wrong, hopefully the dispute has a clear and quick resolution and our manager, players, agents, sponsors etc.all see no clouds or complications, uncertainties, hanging over the club.
