Well the thread was worthwhile, and I have to acknowledge that some of the concerns raised by the OP did reflect my own.

Nothing about the thread reassures me, however, and I realise that the things concerning me had already been raised on this forum in around 25-30
other threads that have already debated (at length and in detail, and with some quality) both the size of the budget and the impact of the court case upon it.

I thought some posters made a valuable comedic and/or satirical contribution, exercising their right to free speech in an exemplary manner, particularly when responding to what they clearly felt was the self-importance and pomposity of another poster.

One poster spent a lot of time demonstrating that he either hadn’t bothered reading any of the 25-30 existing threads that he might have contributed to in order to air his opinions on these issues, and/or demonstrating his contempt for those other threads (as well as his contempt for some of the posters on this thread). But why bother posting in existing threads, when one can parade one’s own debate-fostering, attention-seeking, quality-post-disseminating, paradigm-defining gravitas, in a thread of one’s own? That’s superiority for you. He wasn’t one of the ones with much self awareness, or a sense of humour, by the way.

Still, we should all feel grateful to be back in a place where we have someone else on here to hector us about whose opinion is worthy/quality, and whose isn’t, and why, right? We’ve definitely been missing that, so thank goodness he’s reverted to type so quickly.

I don't think you are taking anything anyone has said on board here. The main point posters are making is that you've used a figure of £20m and won't say, despite being asked, several times, where you've got it from. You've painted a negative picture - as a banker - about difficulties in borrowing money despite the club doing that only last year and then made a comment about cash flow when you had no idea when funds are receivable.

It's not that people don't get your fears, but the way you present them, pretty much fact free, not to mention wrong in some aspects, that gets people disagreeing with you, and, yet again, mocking.

I think most see the points you are making. I think most of them think you're wrong. Your lack of evidence points to that being a correct view to take.

In court yesterday the two sides ignored each other, no chat nor pleasantries and at each break the two sides scurried off to their consultation rooms. Deffo looked like not being friends, adversarial and likely to go on for a long long time with neither seeking a compromise. The 20 or so legal people in there must be loving all this on their mega day rates as things progressed at snails pace.

What this needs is not a court case but mediation to find a deal which saves face for both sides but I formed the impression both sides are too stubborn and have too much pride to back down. Ultimately not good for the team.
