Adolf Hitler - good attacker, but maybe not so good defensively

Attila the Hun - needs no explanation, but his horse might be a problem

Abraham Lincoln - only needs one shot

Might have to be a trip to the North East to see who Jossy can spare us. The lad on the right with the John Gannon haircut always looked a decent prospect!!

Sim Dalt - the young keeper denied a career when the school inspector made them send him to Clinic Street Special School and nasty Bob Thropper (school team captain) wouldn’t let him play for his old school any more. This lad would be perfect to step in should an unforeseen goalkeeping crisis hit us the day before a big match.

Absolutely loved it when the teacher would look at the rain pelting down outside, scrap whatever we were doing, get this book out and just read stories.

there was one in the 1960's 'The Team that Jack built' in the Victor.

an unfashionable club with journeymen players and no cheque book mentality.

The lad Onme Edson that was rumoured never actually turned up.

I reckon that was a work of fiction and he was meant to be a bloody world beater

I reckon we could prise Gordon Stewart away from Tynecastle City if Henderson doesn’t come back on loan.2D3D8A69-FEEA-4B2C-833D-5809A6DFB3F8.jpeg

Does anyone remember this fictional footballer that appeared in the early 70's??
The BBC managed to cast possibly the worse teenage footballer to play the lead role in a series about a kid that turns a rubbish team into winners. It produced some of the most cringe-worthy & embarrassing footage about football ever seen. This kid couldn't kick the ball let alone dribble & tackle. He had obviously never played the game before & looked as awkward as me gramma would have done in a sumo wrestle.

The role criteria & audition obviously didn't involve playing football. It was the talk of the school yard he was so bad.

This guy would struggle to do a job for an over 70's blind team with amputated limbs.
