I am very disappointed by the match having ended so. Bence Toth obtained a goal just and was yet back twenty-five minutes. Who knows what would have happened yet in the remaining time. I understand the fans' indignation the team was not playing well. It is not possible to play it in such a way on the other hand that the players are intimidated. The fans are not against McCabe. They want Krisztián Berki leaving. He Ferencváros football a share company's general manager. The Hungarian leaders gave bad advices to the English leaders according to their opinion. The fans asserted that these players are not good throughout onto the first class. We promoted better players' justification on the summer. But the Hungarian leaders said it they are not needed better. This team achieves the set aims. One are 1-5 places. We are on the place falling out before the last one though now. Currently 39(!) a player forms the framework! This is very much. The club pays twenty players unnecessarily. Let there be 25, but let them be good players. Terry and McCabe recognise that it would have been necessary to justify better players in summer already. Unfortunately it's too late. McCabe comes to Hungary on the next week. He wants to talk to the fans in order for the mood to ease. I have confidence, that McCabe will be just. He sends the general manager and the unnecessary players.
The events like this are not appropriate for us. It is necessary to send the general manager and many players.

A Fradista visszatér, ugye? De Matthaeus? Jaj nem. Úgy lenne, mint nálunk Robsonnal. Egy katasztrófa. Utálom azt a kis törpét.

He did however, provide a most entertaining lost in translation moment when he was the manager of the Hungary international team. He was interviewed after a game against Sweden. The interviewer had no German and Matthaeus no Hungarian so the whole thing was done in English with a simultaneous ‘translation’ by a commentator.

Matthaeus started off with,

“We were doing alright until they scored that fucking goal.”

which was presented to the listening public as,

“Szeretnék gratulálni a svéd csapatnak.” (I’d like to congratulate the Swedish team.)

Priceless.

A Matthaus lehetőség csak szóbeszéd. Szerintem nem lesz az edzőnk. Mindenkit csak hiteget, egy szavát sem lehet hinni. Viszont az igaz, hogy már korábban is szeretett volna az edzőnk lenni. A Fradi pályát betiltották év végéig. Az összes mérkőzésünk zárt kapus lesz. Plusz jelentős pénzbírságot kaptunk. Ma este a Győr csapatával játszunk z Albert stadioban. Ismét lesz tv közvetítés akit érdekel.

Matthaus opportunity only rumour. It will not be our trainer according to me. Feeds everybody with promises only, it is not possible to believe a word of his. It is true on the other hand that he would have liked being our trainer earlier already. They banned Fradi pályát until the end of a year. All of our matches will be closed goalkeepers. We received a plus considerable fine. We play with Győr team in the evening today z Albert stadioban. A TV will be a broadcasting again who he interests.
