Was concerned after two poor loan spells but he looks right at home. I'm sure he learnt a lot from his spell at Rotherham last season despite the poor outcome.
Exactly same mate.

I saw him play for Rochdale against Bradford 2 seasons ago, and he didn't stand out at all, had a poor game. I wrongly had an image that he wouldn't make it.

He is now showing us all exactly why I am not an EFL scout.

Is the difference simply that he’s become a proper physical specimen in the last year?

I genuinely didn’t recognise him.

💯 That I believe he has worked hsi backside off clearly to get himself in shape I didn't recognise him either he is like a different player unbelievable transformation and a massive positive for us that could say us a fortune and be a big plus going forward.

Same here went to see him play for dale v col utd at col u a few years ago. He looked disinterested. Fantastic player now.

Wilder turning him into a really good player.

Was only 9 months ago he wasn’t deemed good enough for Rotherham’s Bench. Now he’s becoming a good championship defend.

Would be fair to say that ever since he looked a monster for the u18’s he hadnt really kicked on last couple of years- it happens and that’s why so many don’t make it.

Certainly looks like he’s bulked up and his speed has always been as asset.

Maybe he knew it was make or break and full credit to the lad. If he carries on like this then he certainly had s part to play for us

he also gives either rak, saki or brooks another option down our right both of those being left footed have to go backwards most of the time when gilchrist is on seriki gets forward a lot more but can also track back as with his brilliant block on musaba

Seems to be alot more movement down that right side when he's on, also gives us the chance to use Shackleton as a midfielder.

I think a lot of credit to the management team, for seeing there is really an asset still in Seriki, he is 22 and had quite few false starts either at Bramall Lane or out on loan over the years.

That block where he ran across and prevented that pig from getting a shot on goal was different level for me. Exactly what a full back or wing back should be doing but not seen regularly these days. Brilliant stuff from the lad
Sort of thing you saw from Baldock or Basham. Players who gave their all

Wanted him to start for a while. Looks everything like the modern day fullback. The academy/u23’s of 2019-2023 have really produced a once in a lifetime crop for us.

It really baffles me how he has been shoe horned into an attacking defender that can’t defend ?

Based on what ? Wilder has also done this

I like Gilchrist he is steady for this level but I see him as more a centre back not Right back well not an attacking one anyway

Seriki is our player he should be prioritised for starts over gilchrist for me he’s also 2 years older

Why are we developing a player for another club and that’s no slight on AG

I think it was Seriki that was on loan at Boston United as well, seemed to do alright from what I recall, pretty sure he was on one of Roygbiv view from players on loan

Yeah it’s interesting. After the couple of poor loans and not looking great when he played mins for us, I was expecting him to be out the door and drop down the leagues. Coaching staff obviously saw some raw materials to work with and have really brought him on. The lad must have knuckled down and worked hard on all parts of his game - there’s no way Wilder would trust him in a derby otherwise. Well done Femi.

I haven’t seen enough of him to make a proper judgement but, physically, he looks a beast and seem like another one with quick feet. Looking forward to seeing more of him in rotation with Gilchrist - lads their ages are only going to have 5–10 good games before they dip form and need a rest. Glad we now have two viable, and different, options in that position. Feels like a bonus.

Think he was pivotal when he came on Sunday , gave us a lot more width than the first half with Gilchrist , not to mention a fantastic tackle / block on Musaba on corner of the 6 yard box . I like Gilchrist as he’s a steady solid defender but he is very limited offensively , Seriki the complete opposite & more than comfortable carrying the ball & providing the overlap down the right
Personally I think the lad should now be a contender for making that shirt his own . Been very impressed with him this season & growing in confidence by the game ⚔️

I’m interested to see what his 1v1 defending is like. I’ve felt a bit nervous in the games I’ve watched him in this situation, to contradict that some of his other defensive work is great and he’s got a real eye for cutting out danger.

Going forward I think he’s just going to get better and better

Can’t remember who the other one was who slid in, but that was the best double tackle I’ve ever seen, it was symptomatic of a will to win attitude. The Souttar tackle on Smith was the same and both were clean, no foul.

Peck was the other IIRC.
Just looked at it again and it was Peck. What’s really impressive from Seriki is how early he spots the potential danger. Musaba is on his run towards the area and Seriki guesses perfectly where he’ll end up. He took responsibility when he could have just hung around at the edge of the box.
