Feeling sorry for West Ham Fans

From a Blades perspective it's probably better that West Ham go down. Spurs would be certs for one of the auto promotion spots.

The stadium may be shit but there are still some decent pubs down Stratford way. It will be a good day out.
West Ham will be a powerhouse next season when they have their new tactically astute manager replacing the clueless, has been dinasour Santo

I wanted a trip to Spuds but detest what happened in 07 , so conflicted really

Completely agree. I accept we actually went down football wise because of Warnock but the cheating bastards behaviour and also that of the PL stank. I’ve waited a long time for this.

Trouble is they’ll get every decision going from the corrupt or awe struck refs next season to ensure their immediate return.

I’d take a bet they’ll lead the stats in penalties awarded, opponents sent off and fouls given against them.
As will the pigs in L1.
The EFL have already committed themselves to that.

Disagree mate , it wont be a good day out. the most soulless stadium in London. Too far from the pitch and the atmosphere is terrible. No proper boozers near by and all in all a terrible day out last time we played them
Yeh , agree , it's a crap trip and I've never been to Spuds wonderland

I've been cheering for them to stay up all season. Much prefer them to Forest and Spurs who are both far more arrogant. I genuinely feel sorry for their fans because they've basically lost their club
Same. I’d much rather Forest had gone down, then Leeds and Spurs.

Know a few West Ham fans and they’re a ‘proper’ football club. I don’t think we’ve got too much to gain from them going down.

Don’t mind West Ham,we have had a couple of bites back at them since the relegation, but that was in our hands and we fucked up royally.

West Ham have been dodging this bullet for years on the whole, rather like Everton, so it feels more natural for them to join us in the Champ. Whereas Spurs coming down would have been funny, I mean really fucking funny. And for that to happen West Ham would have needed something from yesterday, thereby torpedoing yet another Arsenal title campaign...which would have added to the hilarity. Oh well.

After the VAR shit-show for us at Wembley v Sunderland, nothing surprises me.
As soon as they say look at the monitor it’s telling the ref he’s made a mistake and it puts him in an impossible predicament when there’s so much at stake.
So many offences were happening of similar severity, the ref should have let the goal stand,or a penalty to West Ham.
But,obviously, they went with the Hollywood decision

I've known plenty of West Ham fans, being a southerner. I absolutely don't feel sorry for them. Plenty of nasty fans. I don't like all their stupid cockney stuff either.

Rhyming Slang FFS; embarrassing.

No issue with West Ham, that’s long since passed.

More annoyed with that game, Arsenal diving around and falling convincingly to get stoppages.

That VAR decision at the end has been coming. Every corner is a WWE royal rumble now and it’s making football ridiculous. The ref could’ve given any number of fouls in the box, it was just the timing of Pablos arm was slightly earlier than Rices pull down of the WHU player.

He could’ve just given the goal as it took so long to figure out if it was a foul or not, the decision should’ve just stood as not being clear and obvious.

Looks like that result wins Arsenal the league and almost relegates West Ham instead of Spurs
Unfortunately thats what you get in that entitled league .... no interest to me!

Yep.

West Ham a bit meh as they been up and down over the years but a Spurs or Everton would have been nice.

Yeah I actually got up and made some food when the VAR decision was made as it just felt like things have gone backwards in the game. Killed the enjoyment again

I’ve probably watched more Premier League and Champions League this season than I’ve done for years. Enjoyed the Champions League, mostly but the Premier League has become too robotic

I’ve never had beef with West Ham. Ultimately we should’ve stayed up. Blame the PL for not deducting them.
Now don't get me wrong, the PL do not get to absolve themselves of all responsibility given what I am about to say - in fact they are just a culpable. But lets not forget that WHU:

  • Signed 2 World Class Argentinians on contracts that were completely against the rules
  • Lied to the PL when asked whether there were any more documents they hadn`t seen
  • When charged, indicated their expectation was to please Not Guilty - requiring the "hearing" to be set 4 months later
  • At the last minute, changed their plea to Guilty
  • Following the findings, unilaterally ripped up a contract and claimed that it meant the contract wasn`t in force any longer (as if that's how contracts work) allowing Tevez to play the remaining games
  • In the summer, allowed a £30m pound player to join Man U for £2m - all whilst suggesting that the 3rd party Contract was still not in force
They constantly and consistently took the piss out of the PL, both when they made the signings, after they were charged, and after they were "punished". They are a scummy club who have been gifted a (crap) stadium at the taxpayers expense.

And don`t get me started on the "football should be decided on the pitch" fucking fans. Including Martin fucking Samuel. TWATS the lot of them.

Not really a football club anymore just a Meccano set with a West Ham badge on it.

It would be fun to wear mask of yesterday’s ref when we play them next season. Not that I would ever be bothered enough to a) check who it was and b) go to the trouble!

I believe Coventry fans have already bought up all of those available masks online as West Ham are apparently one of their fiercest rivals.

All this shirt tugging and grabbing in the box is a blight on the game that has taken far too long to be punished and clamped down on, so they're all pushing the envelope as far as they can get away with.

I guess from the ref/VAR's point of view, they have to break down the situation based on where the ball is and who is likely to have the biggest effect on it. In that situation, the ball is Raya's to go for and was stopped. There's plenty of other stuff going on that's punishable but its a case of which offence is having a bigger effect on the outcome - they can't just let it all slide.

In isolation, the shirt pull from Todibo that was happening long before Pablo jumped is the foul that's stopping Raya from getting a clean attempt at the ball than Pablo jumping up with the keeper which I think he's entitled to do. The officials have to simply see the passage of play on its merits rather than any effect it has on the league table and in my view, made the right call under immense pressure.

However, I believe that players are far too quick to be whining and moaning for fouls than taking the situation into their own hands because they've got the safety net of VAR.

Keepers these days seem to be piss weak when in days gone by, a bloke like Schmeichel, Seaman, Martyn etc wipes out all and sundry to get to that ball and leaves Pablo, Todibo and the bloke sniffing his armpit in a heap. Seeing all the traffic in front of him, maybe Raya should have given himself a couple of yards to get a better run at it than get caught underneath, knowing that the ball was going to be delivered into all the bodies in front.

Celtics equaliser against Rangers yesterday was nigh on identical to Burrows in the Play-Off final......the goal stood after referral to VAR.
