Just me who thinks that he still actually had something to offer?
Obviously his stats don't make for great reading (15 games 0 goals 1 assist and 2 red cards), but you have to take into account that all but two of his games were under the leadership of the worst manager in our history and came in a period of time when which every single player (including Maguire) was completely abject. As is the case with the likes of Taylor and Cuvelier I think people judging players who played the bulk of their football under Weir as not good enough are being a bit harsh.
TBH I also don't really see the attitude problem he supposedly has. A bit of a short fuse? without a doubt. But an attitude problem? not for me. He lacked an end product but if anything he worked harder than anyone else did under Weir. He didn't complain when he didn't get back into the side after his suspension and from the little bits we heard seemed sorry about what he did. For me someone like Westlake is an example of a player with an 'attitude problem', tweeting things like "hahahahaha they've lost again" (or something on those lines) after he was sent out on loan and we lost a game.
I still think he could have proven to be a useful squad player with his pace and willingness to run at defenders. He's the sort we were crying out for at times last year when we were struggling to break down tiring defences. Jamal Campell Ryce isn't a bad choice to replace him though, mind. Similar player but with a lot more experience and less likely to kick off if things aren't going his way in a game.
Did you not see this one? (skip to 4:30)
I just can't bring myself to believe this statementGood riddance.
Yep im a bit annoyed at this aswell. and surely we could have sold him for some money if we didn't want him?.
I thought when we got this guy he would be a tremendous buy , quick and a asset for any team looking to get forward quickly ,
with his speed and turn of pace , fast forward less than half a season , and what did we get , a sulky fucker constantly chucking himself to the ground hoping for a free , 2 sending offs , a Billy big bolloxs attitude that goes down like a lead ballon with our new manager ,
No goals , and bottling it going forward when I saw him , and when he came on as a sub ( when he got back from the Shrews ban ) came the smattering of boo ' s , and no , not from me either .
Good riddance to bad rubbish , maybe we we're too big a step up for him ,
our gain will be there loss .
UTB .
Wards beer flatulence? God how that brings back olfactory memories! Thanks.
But turn that on it's head - do you really think someone at the club thought "fuck getting a fee, let's write it off for nothing".
That fact is we will have tried getting a fee, but he'll be known in the game for being an overpaid petulant knobsack and nobody was interested.
At least we aren't paying him anymore.
UTB
worst ever i remember was ashley ward
Probably says more about you than usSo, no good then?
Aberdeen are apparently in for him.
That said, you lot said Robson was terrible and he was one of our best players in our best season for 20 years![]()
I used to drink it when I was a teenager out of some misplaced local loyalty. Until one morning after a few pints I woke up and my room smelled so bad I was gagging like a poisoned lab rat.
I'm sure they put sulphur in it.![]()

least he can't score against us nowBrandy has signed for Rotherham...
I do however take issue with the accusations people make that he chucked himself to the ground
Haha the card's from FIFA but the traits aren't. Fair enough if others think it he may have done it occasionally but I do feel some people are harsh and over exaggerate slightly.Seriously?
He was a cheating little git, Ive never seen a player hit the deck so frequently when just being looked at by the opposition.
*EDIT just found this about his player profile on some game or other, check his traits out:

Seems like an Evans' type of player

I think that's right. Evans is a different type of manager than Clough, more a "street fighter" ready to mix it on and off the field.
