Graham Shaw missed 2 at home (Bristol City, 19 Sept, 1959, and West Ham, 16 Feb 1963). And he missed 3 away from the Lane - Bristol City, Jan 3, 1959, Leeds 25 March, 1961, just 2 days before the big one in the Leicester semi-final.Bernard missed his at an away game. Not sure if Graham missed one at the Lane. HodgysBrokenThumb ?
He took over from Hawksworth in the 58-59 season, and in 3 years scored 6 and missed 5; this included both goals in the win over Liverpool, Sept 5, 1959.
Simpson took over in 61-62 (and was good), but then Graham Shaw scored penalties in 3 successive games - Brentford away, League Cup, 26 Sept, 1962; West Ham away, 29 Sept; Wednesday home, 6 Oct. His last successful pen was Dec 8, 1962.
After that, it was Allchurch or Doherty, and then Woodward. A right-wing take-over!
