Surely you have to count from when the game kicks off (or when the player is introduced to the game), not when the first goal is scored? So although Clarke scored his first 3 goals in 27 minutes, it was actually an 80 minute hat trick.

Hat-tricks are timed from the first goal to the third goal.

Why would you do it any other way?
