Is this you?

A Sheffield United fan who watched the fixture at Portman Road last Sunday is owed a prize by the Suffolk club.

Ipswich Town have contacted us with a view to us getting in touch with John Morgan who purchased a winning ticket and left a telephone number that is not recognizable.

If John could contact [email protected] with his winning ticket colour and number we will hand over his prize.

Incidentally, Town's Help for Heroes day raised in the region of £5000 for the two forces charities.

As well as writing my number wrong, I accidently put my name down as John Morgan by mistake!

Unless of course it was one of those embarrasingly crap prizes I took the piss out of at time but now can't remember :D

Can I point out that clubs like Ipswich, WBA, SUFC etc are of a size where the club considers the fan and the fan generally is from the local community not a glory hunter.

So whilst you might things are not going right on the pitch at times remember that you would not get this treatment at the likes of Chelsea/Man U etc.

Would you get access to training at the big clubs, would you be able to drive down and park in the car park to get tickets without any hassle, bump into players in said car park and have a chat with them?

In many aspects we have it good.

I will openly admit that is something that i love about Sheffield United.

I've spoke to directors, chairman, managers, players and plenty of others who work in various capacities at Sheffield United, and i've always spoken to them as nothing more than a keen supporters. It has been very, very rare than i have found anybody to be rude, aloof, or inaccessible. This in turn has been something that has strengthened my bond with Sheffield United and fosters a feeling of being in it together.

The most recent chinwag i have had with a United player was with Chris Morgan a few weeks back. I had a drive to the Lane on my day off with my baby son as my missus was at work and i was looking after him all day. I pulled up in to the car park and went to the ticket office and bought some tickets for Donny away and he got fussed in the ticket office. Came out of the ticket office and bumped in to Morgs and ended up having a bit of a chinwag with him, and he was interested in young Brownie, fussing him and asking me how old he was, and comparing notes on looking after babies. After that i took Brownie Jnr in to the Club Shop to buy him some bits and pieces including a toy Captain Blade, once again he was fussed by the ladies in the club shop.

On the drive home i wondered how many other clubs up and down the country where you could on a midweek day, and get made to be feel welcome by every one i came in to contact with. It wouldn't happen at many of the big clubs where requests for autographs are refused, your classed and treated as a consumer rather than a loyal supporter, and the players ignorantly drive past in 4X4's with black out windows ignoring the loyal supporters.

Hope he wasn't going out buying alloys Brownie....

If he did it at some out of the way garage that would be ok, and it would ease the fury somewhat. It wouldn't be ok if he was rubbing our noses in it on Ecclesall Road though. No sirree!
