The problem with these surveys is...

If you're doing well, fans are happy and generally agree the club is run well. If you're performing below the expected level, more fans would say the club is being run poorly.

A lot of these figures seem highly dubious. What's the source for this?

Yes exactly this. Chelsea have spent nearly a billion pounds in about 2 years. Literally. And yet only 48% of their fans are happy. Quick reminder they won the champions league about 3 years ago.

We've just got promoted to the premier league whilst being under a transfer embargo and yet some of our fans are like toddlers screaming over a peppa pig toy in the supermarket.

I get its frustrating we havent replaced Ndiaye and Berge but we could spend 100 million + and still likely get relegated.

Try to actually enjoy this sport and club a little bit or go and support Man City or watch cricket.

Is it? Well I wasn't asked for one.

Do you know 100% of our fanbase?
These polls and their sources are usually complete horse shit.
I mean, if you picked 100 people off this forum at random and asked them, it'd probably be as low as Everton's. But only a tiny proportion of our fans are on here and we're all slavering obsessives. I go to matches and overhear people around me who barely know who our own players are. As far as they're concerned, "back in the Premier League" = "well run"

I mean I want the Prince to leave as much as most but many fans who do these will see us as a prem club and come up with the obvious answer that we aren’t one of those clubs in lower leagues etc etc

I would say though that for a newly promoted team 70% is still low, you would imagine most newly promoted teams are in the high 90%

I reckon 70% are happy that we got promotion, 30% are those like you who are unhappy that we got promotion! ;)

If I were a casual-ish fan and only bothered about what happens on the pitch then I’d be fairly happy the last 18 months. The last month or so has soured it but we weren’t expected to stay up anyway so it’s gone from slim chance to very slim chance for me with the transfer dealings.

As to whether I’m happy with how the club is being run I’d be in the 30%, results on the pitch I’d be in the 70% (this season might change a lot of opinions on that though).

The reasons I’m happy:

  • promotion
  • good manager
  • seemingly good team spirit
  • playing in the best league we can be
  • much improved structure under Abdullah

Reasons not to be happy (short form):

  • lack of coherent club strategy
  • sale of best players due to contract situation
  • contract situation of other players at the club
  • low wage budget/structure relative to PL rivals
  • lack of formal communication from club
  • recent embargo
  • speed of administration processes (tickets, kits, transfers etc.)

It’s not all shit but it’s far from rosy.

98% of Man City fans think their club, which is currently facing 115 charges for financial irregularities, is being run well. 🤷‍♂️
Says it all really - "we're winning / look like we're going to win" - Happy. Otherwise, not so.

Many fans are fucking thick when it comes to how to run a football club.

"Pay them what they want" I've read numerous times recently. :)

If you ain’t happy after just winning the treble, when are you going to be happy?

It's not about being happy, it's about thinking your club's being well run. I'd be happy watching Mbappe bang them in for us if we somehow signed him, but I wouldn't be under any illusions that we were being sustainably run.

How happy will those City fans be when a load of trophies get retrospectively wiped from their record?

The financial memory of a football fan rivals that of a Goldfish.

Many of us seem to have forgot that we got into this mess, but also promoted by not selling players.

Many have reset / forgot that - now the same fans are questioning why we've done our business late.

I'm amazed that 1% of Brighton fans don't think they're well run. What more, exactly, could they want?

Same for Luton. 1% of their fans think they're not well run! Presumably they think that non league to Premier League in 10 years was far too long.
