True ISC. It's the floating voters , part of the 80,000 students who come and stay in Sheffield who are the potential future fans we have to try and nail them to our colours , plus young family members .

I have 8 mates who were students in Sheffield dotted around the city student digs in the 70s . All finished up Blades and still go and have STs. These are the people we need in the future coming through the turnstiles . I can already see a age gap of support happening at the lane . Youngsters easily get bored and fed up .

We do more than most for students , and OAP fans . We might have messed up on the football front , but let's not cock the fan support pathway ( coin a buzzword phrase. ) up .

This is the crux of the situation and it's a difficult thing to suss out without coming across as someone blaming the fans.

I understand the apathy. I get it. I'm watching the same shite and it's a very difficult thing to become enthused by. But last week against Crewe, we were far louder when it got to 2-2 than we were at 2-0 up. As a collective, it appears we're more vocal when the opportunity is there to hurl abuse at the players than we are whilst we're winning. I don't like that at all.

However, it's a two-way street, Mr. Adkins. If you want vocal backing, we must see something to cheer for. With a bit of pace and skill, we'd have put 5 past Crewe. They were garbage. It's very, very difficult for us as fans to be in full voice when what we're watching isn't up to scratch. If the slow and shit culprits are replaced with pace, skill and goals...that's when you'll see us at our loudest.

Totally get where your coming from with regards to the vocal 'support' at the lane. Unfortunately frustrations and anger is what's bubbling beneath the surface with the fans, not optimism and excitement. There lies your reasoning

I don't think that anybody is stating that they are world beaters but I know that they are better than current showings would suggest as I have seen it with my own eyes.

We've been a lost cause before, no doubt we'll be a lost cause again at some point in the future. It takes a strong manager to pull you out of the shite, Bassett, Warnock and Kendall did it, the current incompetent hasn't shown any sign at all that he can do it.

We're hardly going to loan players to our competition though, are we? And given that we're midtable, that kind of wipes out league one entirely. If we'd shed the squad at the end of last season, I'd say there were plenty who'd have left for greener pastures. That won't happen now though as they mostly look like damaged goods after this disastrous season.

Without wanting to argue, what is embarrassing about having genuine concerns that the current manager has what it takes to get us up? The fact that has had the ability in the past doesn't mean he has now. See Danny Wilson for proof. I'm not advocating his sacking yet but I want to see something, anything that shows he has a clue because so far this season he's given us nothing. I've watched us 34 times this season plus twice live on the box and seen nothing that says "I think Nigel is the man for the job". He may well prove me wrong. Good I'd be glad and the first on here to hold up my hands and apologise. Maybe he has evaporated all current hope I have and like so many blades at the moment we desperately need something to cling onto
