Backing to do what exactly?

If he plays the youngsters and gives them their chance then that's worth backing to prepare them for next year. They deserve our full support as they are the future and have not contributed to this awful season.

If he just wants an easy ride for the remainder of this lost season for himself and the wasters he's brought in then he can do one.

Some honesty and explanation of what you mean Mr Adkins please. You are now confusing the fans as well as your professionals....

He has to get the balance right as throwing too many kids in will hand the points to Walsall, Balance is something he's had trouble finding
all season.Lets see Walsall off we can beat them but not with a team full of inexperienced kids. I want some youth in the side but two many is not the answer.

The most condescending twat of the year award goes too. . . . . . . .Nigel Adkins!

Typo , thinking error . The only thing is the bloke does not help himself , with comments and mistakes .

Certain age keep off Facebook and Twitter whoever you are . Has the bloke got a death wish , method in his madness . It is more financially rewarding in football to get the sack , than do the morale , honourable thing and resign / walk away when things go wrong and past repair .

Adkins nice guy , but no different to any other manager . SUFC is just a job , to us it's a lifestyle , religion and family .

Yes very condescending which he classes as being positive.

Honestly don't know how to react with the bloke . Let's hope McCabe has a better understanding , barometer about keeping him in a job than me . I have no idea .

I'm going to Coventry in Adkins fancy dress, for a laugh like.

Should be easy enough - hair flicked up at front, orange face, crisp suit, glasses, unshakable positivity.

If I get on the beers in Tesco car park beforehand I might be able to talk as much nonsense too.

Going dressed as a clown, is a bit old hat Keef.

These clowns must think an 18,000 crowd comes with the fixtures and fittings.

From the head clown I can confirm the crowd and support has to be earned, I'm not going! First time in 50 years I am missing by choice :(

I feel confident you will go... Thick and thin, even if the current gruel is particularly thin... ;)

It is a concern though, the number of people on the forum who suggest they are not bothered for going, and I absolutely understand why (I will be going, but that's because I can't always get because of work, not because I am thrilled at the prospect of the match). I have witnessed the demise of Coventry City through mismanagement over recent years and seen the fan-drift, it is not something that is easily reversed. :(

Yep. They do pong a bit don't they but I wasn't sure it was visible ;)

Leaving Highfield Road was their biggest mistake - took the heart an soul out of the club - that tradition is very difficult to claw back.

We're doing it slightly differently - we've remained at Bramall Lane - hence the crowds have remained strong - but we've shat all over everything else.

What we need now is a few 80's theme matches and take the crowd down 11,000 for the rest of the season. Maybe. . . just maybe the great support the club receives won't be taken for granted.

Here you go.

Or should it be in that thread that begins with a capital 'T' ?

9 points off 5 home games left.jpg

I'm missing the next 2 home games due to other commitments, first times I've actually been glad to be missing games.

It's all well and good telling the fans not to give up, he should try telling the players who cease to give a fuck when they are behind more often than not.

I'm missing the next game because I've urgently got to take a library book back to the library. . . . .

Does backing the team, mean just turning up?

BDTBL is a morgue, sometimes that's a disrespect to all the morgues out there.

Or is it now the norm to only get behind the team if we're in top six, challenging for promotion?

Isn't that what the players are doing Is that enough? slightly confused

This is the crux of the situation and it's a difficult thing to suss out without coming across as someone blaming the fans.

I understand the apathy. I get it. I'm watching the same shite and it's a very difficult thing to become enthused by. But last week against Crewe, we were far louder when it got to 2-2 than we were at 2-0 up. As a collective, it appears we're more vocal when the opportunity is there to hurl abuse at the players than we are whilst we're winning. I don't like that at all.

However, it's a two-way street, Mr. Adkins. If you want vocal backing, we must see something to cheer for. With a bit of pace and skill, we'd have put 5 past Crewe. They were garbage. It's very, very difficult for us as fans to be in full voice when what we're watching isn't up to scratch. If the slow and shit culprits are replaced with pace, skill and goals...that's when you'll see us at our loudest.

'A Blade never gives in' is right up there with 'Foxes never quit'

Apart from an uber optimistic minority, most of us gave up on the play offs in February.

Of course we give in. We have had 91 years of 'giving in' and winning nothing since the 1920's.

I do wish he wouldn't patronise us so. I think I actually dislike his 'positive mental attitude' crap more than his team selections. We aren't Americans, we are dour Yorkshirmen and we don't do 'spin'.

I witnessed the demise of Rushen and Diamonds who are back playing were they started . Fans do drift or become so disillusioned they become arm chair football fans with Saturday in front of the telly watching Jeff Stelling.

The concern for us is that fans drift and the gloating fan finish up at S6 watching potential premiership football.

We are falling behind , and fans do not want promises , 3 year plan , we want entertainment , and winning is entertainment and be all and end all .

Stability in the championship never mind the premiership seems a long way off for us blades.

Worrying times , with no real light at the end of the tunnel , never mind what spin Adkins puts on it.
