It's Leyton fucking Orient, I should hope we fancy us to win. I fancy us to win every game at this level, with the possible exceptions of Wolves and Peterborough, who have good squads. Just a shame I've been disappointed most games.

I also fancy us today and will be disappointed if we don't win.

Just look at the state of that. Only Wolves and possibly Preston are half decent clubs who you can accept being up there. Just because a shitty little team like Leyton Orient are doing well in this shitty little division doesn't mean we should start accepting draws against them as good results. Want better, expect better, strive for better, get better.

again we were pushed by Weir to the brink of our lowest point in our history with 8 straight defeats, did you expect us to win 5-0 every game from the minute a new man came in , try a bit of fucking realism

and what about orient , they are a pro club , theyll have a good run now and again , wigan had 8 seasons in the prem , yeovils won 3-0 at watford today , shows how fickle football is

we have to earn the right to win , we arent better because we have more fans

I don't expect us to win 5-0 every game, but if it isn't "realistic" to expect Sheffield United to beat Leyton Orient then that is a very sad state of affairs.

Whilst form gives a rough idea of who might beat who, it is the past so bears no relevance to the next result. I don't think I lack realism in expecting us to win our next game. I expect it because it should happen.

I expect us to win every next game , but tinged with the realism we wont , tell me , Ive been watching us for fifty years and I dont expect us to trample over any club , how come you do, to go into any game thinking ,way they are only a small club , we should shit on them , is nt that begging for a fall , its the wednesday way , we are massive , leads only to utter disappointment , ask any owls fan just now
My first season in football Orient finished higher in div 2than liverpool, perhaps their fans are wondering how little Liverpool are doing so well

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree more. Football is all about form. It's a heavily psychological game, and quite simply, if you win, you are more likely to win the next game. Form is so important. An example: In an early season game in the Premier League this season, West Brom beat Man UTD 2-1 at Old Trafford. They were the better team, and MUFC's defending was frankly shocking. MUFC were mid table and average all over at that point. Now look at the table a couple of months later. They've strung together a good unbeaten run, and I think most would agree that they'd hammer West Brom if they played them at Old Trafford this weekend. The teams haven't changed. But their form has.

I think the problem here is that a lot of SUFC fans are entitled. We were Premier League 7 years ago, and now we're languishing at the bottom end of the third tier. I hate that. We all hate that. We all want to be back up there. But we're not. So yes, 7 years ago we should've expected to steamroller Orient, but as things stand, they have the best form in the league (that's why they're top of the league) and we're only just picking up good form. To pick up a point is a real achievement at this point in time. The last 5 games a team have played say far more than the 500 preceding that, and if you don't get that then what sport have you been watching?

This has never happened. They both did get promotion to the first division in 1962, Liverpool finishing top and Leyton Orient pipping Sunderland to the 2nd spot by a point

It disappoints me that any time somebody dares to mention the fact that we are a very big club at this level, and let's get this straight, we are, the best retort somebody can come back with is to liken them to a pig fan. Very mature.

My point is that a club such as ours, with the resources at its disposal, should be capable of beating the likes of Leyton Orient and for a good few fans to be seemingly delighted with a draw is a sad state of affairs. If you are happy that we just scraped a draw at a side that gets six and a half thousand fans turning up and whose resources pale in comparison to ours then good on you, but I'm not which, of course, is my prerogative.

I do want and expect more and I believe it will come. I don't see that as a problem, quite the opposite. To not expect more would be to lack ambition. I just hope the players didn't go into the game with the attitude that a draw would be a great result or we shall languish some more.

Hmmm... You're right that we shouldn't be where we are, but that's history now. We are a poor side, and we need to fight to stay up. If we can't enjoy small successes in that context then there's very little left to enjoy at all.

We might want to be back in the higher leagues, but that's a long way off. In the meantime lets enjoy the baby steps. Time to ponder the second noble truth of Buddhism. ;)

Indeed. If Usain Bolt broke his leg in a very complicated way in a freak training accident and couldn't beat me over 100m for a few weeks, I think it would be a happy day for him the first time he did beat me.

I didnt infer you were an owl , I said dont go down that route, arrogance is an ugly trair for any fan , yes we get good gates and had 10 excellent seasons of being in the mix. Any team though can fall foul of the footballing gods, we got relegated due to a mix of poor management and an injury plot too unbelievable to use on Holby City, then missed a swift return due to one mans libido being larger than his brain. We started this campaign with a gamble of an untried manager , and it back fired, leaving us with a squad so dis believing of their own ability after Weirs tutorlidge , they looked like Elm tree pub second XI. . Clough has slowly instilled the belief in their ability to compete, its taking time as belief is the hardest thing to instill, fans who think we have a divine right to be better , which we might have in some respects have to have the patience to let Clough get the squad believing we have the basics to do so , which they have had totally ripped from them ,
its nothing but disrespectful to say getting a point at any team , wether its wolves or orient, who are top of the league , isnt a good point. THEY HAVE EARNED THE RIGHT TO BE TOP,
