FA Cup: Team vs Reading

I think he will make 4 or 5 changes. If Enda is not 100% then he can't be risked and Osborn did a great job second half v Brighton.

Berge should definitely start, the more games he plays the better, temptation may be to play him in the Norwood role, (where he will probably be more effective long-term) but he will not be starting there v Norwich so maybe no point? Personally I would like to see how he does there.

Nobody should need a "rest" as we have played only 2 games since Palace on 1st Feb but an opportunity to look at 1 or 2 that might be knocking on the door for a start or indeed need match fitness.

Henderson
Baldock
Retsos
Egan
JOC
Osborn
Lunny
Berge
Fleck
Didzy
Moose

Verrips, Bash, Norwood, Sharp, Freeman K, Zivkovic, Jags

If all below are fit for me I’d be looking something like;

Deano
Retsos
Jagielka
Basham
Baldock
Berge
Osborne
Lundstram
L Freeman
Mcburnie
Mousset

Would like to see Luke freeman play with Osborne more than likely staying in while Stevens recovers. Berge needs time in the team. Would be nice to have a good run in the cup (semi onwards) combined with a top 10 finish.

What a season for the blades!!!

We're safe and have the best chance of a cup run in our history.

Full strength team please, no mucking about

When I wrote this I didn't realize we weren't playing on the Saturday beforehand so have an even longer break.

Full strength team ahead please!

Love it 🤣

Play fringe players and save some 1st team players for Saturday, cos I think Saturday is more important than tomorrow night. The fringe players will get us through to the quarters without any problems.

We have just had the equivalent of two winter breaks, with the Brighton match thrown in the middle.
Full first team group to warm up for the Norwich game, which could turn out to be a banana-skin for players who should be champing at the bit.
I do understand the need to keep squad players busy, and normally the back up players should dispose of Reading with no trouble. I just think, in this case, the EPL is our bread and butter.
They will all get chances in April May when the fixtures get really tough and come thick and fast again.
Don’t be surprised if there is only one, or two changes at most.

Henderson
Basham Egan JOC
K.Freeman Berge Norwood L.Freeman Osborn
Sharp McGoldrick

Changed my mind on this one. The front two will be whoever isn’t playing Saturday, and I still think that’s likely to be McBurnie & Sharp for at least one more match. I think Baldock will also now start. Only other maybe is Retsos, but think he’s more likely as a sub appearance than a starter.

Henderson
Basham Egan JOC
Baldock Berge Norwood L.Freeman Osborn
Mousset McGoldrick

We will not be going for 4 changes out of those 6. That’s basically a Fylde match esque lineup with JOC thrown in.

Osborn.
You're probably right and with so little football being played by the first team it also doesn't make sense to make so many changes as we're just not getting the games in.

It would almost have been better for us to play our FA cup game on Saturday v Reading and for Reading and Barnsley to have played their league game on Weds this week

Deano is no longer on our books. He was a great striker not a goalkeeper. I'd stick with Hendo.

I'd give Retsos a run out along with Osborn in for Stevens, other than that strongest XI possible.

I'd be happy for Moose & McGoldrick to start up front. Over the season, Moose has, by far, looked to be our most threatening player along with Fleck, and I dare say he's been treated slightly harshly of late with a lack of game-time. We've secured safety in the Premier League, and we're well rested having not played much lately. Happy to see the new signings involved at some point too. Let's go for it!

Can either of those do 90 minutes? Just for once I’d like to see us play a team where we can make three substitutions for reasons other than our strikers are blowing out of their arses.

For me I'm sorry but rest no one, it's a chance to reach a quarter final and they haven't played for 10 bloody days, at the most for me 1 or 2 changes but that's it

Hendo

I know Bash is versatile but....

I'm not sure either can. But in my opinion, the extra threat they pose over 65 minutes justifies a start. We look so much better when they play.

So Wilder has said today, that the new boys will be involved in some way?
I'm looking forward to seeing Retsos and Zivkovic, even if it just for a short cameo, I'd also like to see Lunny, Berge and Freeman in the middle, as I think that offers us a different angle, and Berge has played defensive mid previous, and we know Lunny and Freeman are quite attack minded.

Something to bear in mind is that we might need to play 120 minutes depending on how things pan out...
Which is why I find it hard to believe we’d start Retsos. Although I haven’t seen him in training. I was expecting him to maybe come on as a sub, if we’re winning comfortably, which is why I’d prefer to see at least one striker who can play a full game (as, again, if the circumstances are right, we could bring Ziv on for the other striker).

I would actually say, given we've just had a mid-season break and a weekend off for the FA Cup that I'd play the full first team. They could probably use some match sharpness!

Maybe start McGoldrick and Mousse against them

Lots calling for Mousset to start, but he’s not fit enough. Unless he’s allowed to amble about when not directly involved, which is unlikely. Last half hour for me.

Changed my mind slightly. Keen to see Zivkovic start.
Think Osborn deserves a full game.
Would also like to see Verrips.
I know folk want to see a full strength side... But this could be the future (apart from Enda and Egan) would be another boost to the club if Retsos plays a blinder and Zivkovic bags a goal!Screenshot_20200302-231847~2.png
