FA charges

Kyle Bartley was incensed in the game against Hull and that was started by the punch to the stomach he received from Paul McShane. Why isn't he being charged?

Andy Reid is being charged so I'm guessing that Grant Holt, who barged Quinn over aggressively is being charged. He isn't? Why not?

Is the referee and linesman from Norwich being investigated to see why United's players were wound up? Why not?

Because the FA has issued a directive to all officials involved in Sheffield United matches that all major decisions must go against us. That's because we sued and won in the High Court, and the FA didn't like it.

The ref at Carrow Road was bent, his lino was fat and couldn't keep up with play, got at least 4 offsides wrong with Holt. Should have sent off another Norwich player, but convenientley missed it. Could not wait to award Naarch soft penalties. It is a vendetta against this club, pure and simple.

Andy Reid - Due for suspension

Been charged with violent conduct from Norwich game.

Could've played his last game. Has until tonight to respond.

Not going to have many left for Burnley at this rate.Time for Corky to put his boots on?

Nice to see consistency is usage of video technology.

Both Norwich and Swansea should have men retrospectively suspended if this is the way we are doing things.

Would anyone who went to Norwich/Hull matches try and pass a realistic opinion on whether it is worth fighting this one....bearing in mind that, in the FA footballing world, we are about as popular as a turd in a swimming pool. Seeing snatches on tv does not tell the full story....if we are culpable we have to take the medicine however

It is a joke, the refereeing at Norwich was by all accounts a disgrace but in cold light of day and inspite of the provocation the footage I have seen leaves no doubt that Reidy should have been sent off and he will definitely be banned.

I think our best possible official reponse would be to question why the referees aren't called out on "failing to control the match" and asking why even the video panels appear to be blind to the opposition.

What did reid do... i Can't seem to remember him doing anything apart from gob off at the ref???

This is a joke. What the f*ck is going on this season?

What did Reid do? Punch someone? Cause if not then when have the FA ever done this to anyone else? Wankers

Looked like a headbutt from the video.

Deserved ban if that's what it's for.

That aside, any chance of keeping him?

Was that in the brawl that broke out??
Did bullard throw some punches at the hull game??

Does not appear unreasonable Foxy...but will that help us against Burnley and the following matches where we have to play with a further depleted squad. The only way is to produce irrefutable evidence that we were not the main instigators. The way it looks at the moment...we are the villains...like I say, if we really are we take the punishment, learn from it and move on

He half stuck the nut on the invisible Norwich player who was in his face.

BTW it also puts a big question mark over Reid. We can not afford our best players to be sidelined for 3 matches because they can not control violent tendencies. Aggression yes....violent conduct no. I thought we may have learned that lesson with Henderson.

It was more than Quinny did and was stupid, but not totally different to anything else that went on in the melee.

Still, Norwich and Hull are allowed to punch, kick, elbow and get in our faces.

Personally I'm disgusted they they haven't charged Monty with violent conduct after sticking his nose on someone's elbow v. Hull, still, it's probably because the ref saw it and gave a free kick to Hull but no card.

Just watched the Norwich Highlights. Absolutely fucking disgusting performance from the ref. I was there and knew he got it wrong, absolutely disgusting....

Does anyone know what investigation will follow? Will the FA look at the whole video of the game or just isolated incidents. Are they obliged to look at the whole game or will United have to introduce further evidence....it will be interesting to know. Cynically, I believe United are not going to be treated fairly....I just hope they will be given a fair crack

You are better offdoing as the unclean do, invade the pitch and chase opposition players down the tunnel ,fight with police and ransack shops in Sheffield. For that you just get off with a slap on the wrist.

dont know why people keep blaming the f.a ,it was them that actually reversed the premieeagues 3 wrong decisions that meant we were eventually awarded 20 milll in compensation ,hardly the actions of an orginisation that has a vendetta against us ,almost as stupid as the people who think trevor brooking was the one who made the decision to only fine west ham 5 milllion when he works for a complety different orginsiation

You just had to bring the facts into this, didn't you? :D

sorry but it really grinds my gears that people dont know this very important fact about their own club ,especially when you get posters like micalijo and ollesendro who seem to know every financial detail of the club and plc inside out

Trevor Brooking might not have had anything to do with the decision, but he has INFLUENCE at the end of the day. That counts for a lot.

This is the same FA that ordered the closing of the 2 blocks of the South Stand in 03/04, quite rightly too, after we had the crowd trouble in 02/03, but then failed to punish either swfc for the Palace game events, or even worse, Luton Town for the events days later against York City. Vendetta? You bet.

It was the Premier League who we fought wasn't it; not the Football Association? I dont think referees / associations have all got together and said lets shaft Sheffield United.

We have to face facts, there has been two brawls involving the same team. They have charged all 3 clubs but we are the common denominator (along with 2 poor refs). If they have reviwed video evidence then they will have watched both incidents. I have watched both incidents and whislt there is some pushing and shoving from all teams involved the only real incidents they would take anyone to task over is the Reid headbutt and sadly despite people ecusing him Quinn also putting his head into a Norwich player (barely connected I grant you).

I cannot see any other punches thrown from a United/Hull/Norwich player just a lot of shoving and words exchanged but maybe the TV evidence they have does not show other things that happened. I felt at the match Ashbee should have gone but looking at the TV evidence there is just a grapple on the floor between him and Monty and cant see anything clearly. Bartley also was daft to wade in but he does not land a punch or do anything that would lead to being suspended.

Taking away the referees poor performances in both games and also the bad decisions we granted got at Norwich, the FA are acting on these two incidents as both clubs are being charged with not being able to control their players (the FA are clamping down on these big mass confrontations involving all players so it is not just us believe it or not!)

However, looking at individuals can anyone honestly say they saw a Unted/Hull/Norwich player throw a punch/headbutt (other than thoise discussed above) that should also have led to suspension. I am not being churlish in saying that but the FA can only act on what they have seen. If United have evidence to the contrary they should be showing this and demanding similiar suspensions.

I will defend my club to the hilt and fight for my my players but I do feel United do need to show greater control. We have had more men sent off than any other team and have now been charged with faililure to control our players. This is not good enough and I feel it is tooe asy to keep blaming referees and saying everyone is out to get us.

Yes.

However they aren't really shown on the selected replays and on recent evidence they would be ignored anyway. That said, it's helped us in the case of Kyle Barley, who landed a nice one (from my view in real-time).

Regarding the only one really on the video - if Grant Holt was wearing a red and white shirt with Henderson written on the back, they'd be throwing the book at him at the minute.

We need to channel their aggression differently and we can be our own worst enemy, but theres no doubt in my mind that we are more harshly treated than others.
