OK McBurnie was always going to win 'dick move' but I was under the impression his comment of 'shite' was about the Scotland set-up not the team. However admitting that would probably be even more damaging to his international career.

Isn’t that sort of what’s implied?

In Osborn and Freeman’s case, their inactivity has had more to do with the form of those ahead of them rather than any mess of their own making. And Jagielka was brought back to the club for his influence in the dressing room more than his contribution on the pitch.

The only ones left out of that group are Robinson, Morrison and Besic. None of those having been particularly successful – Robinson a mixed bag, Morrison non-existent. Besic probably could fit in the unable to dislodge a good performer in front of him.

Perhaps what’s not mentioned is that a big factor for the lack of opportunities to a lot of the new signings stems from our excellent medical staff keeping any niggling injuries to an absolute minimum. Stevens in the last few games is really the first of those, and it’s given Osborn the opportunity to impress.

I've re read it and I think it's the term 'a mixed bag' which probably bothers me, nobody has a 100% success rate in the transfer market but our summer transfer window has been as good as anybody's. The rest of the article is absolutely spot on, even the tough decision of 'best player' is perfectly made.
