McCabe converting debt to shares..

It's not that mate. An EGM of shareholders has already been called in relation to that issue. It does not require a board meeting. Boards meet where and when they like. There is no particular title to their meetings. The AGMs and EGMs required by the Companies Act relate to shareholders, not directors.

If it's not the share conversion, I'm interested to know what it's about. Nothing more on BladesMad or here....

couldnt be the share conversion as that would almost certainly have to involve other shareholders, the plot definately thickens.
watch this space.....

i heard it had been called to see if we could sell any more players,if not then they will discuss the possibility of selling the statues in the car park ! but there is a feeling within the club that the said statues could do a better job in defence:rolleyes:

Something as mundane as a last minute decision to reduce season ticket prices? We can but hope.

I don't know, defeat to Derby virtually guaranteing (spelt?) first division football (almost sounds wrong that this is now a bad thing, damn you Premier League and Coca Cola for your league rebranding exercises.... hang on, I'm going off topic here), coupled with some (albeit only weak at the minute) chants of sack the board. And suddenly the planned prices seem like a bad idea, Birch thinks "Hang on, if we don't do something immediately we'll really alientate the fans" so he calls an EGM to discuss repricing. Seems feasible to me, if not quite as exciting as some may hope.

Got a letter for this, it came through last week, and its the samething Pinchy, its nothing about the team or manager blade58, it certainly is to do with McCabes plans with debt and shares, there is some other niff naff mentioned on it, I'll pull letter out later and relay whats on it, later on, unless someone else can do it before.

I got that too Beech but that's an EGM not an EBM. The letter made it clear that McCabe was going to vote in favour with his 86% shareholding, meaning that the motion would be passed.

If there's an emergency board meeting, I'd guess it would be about disaster planning because I doubt they'd really considered relegation as anything other than a worst case scenario as there would have been an expectation that we'd get 6+ points from the last three games.

Really? Has he been in a coma for the last year?

I have never known so many of this clubs supporters be so pissed off. The "good" thing appears, to me anyway, that the lethargy and apathy that has been enveloping so many for so long is actually being replaced by anger now that we are odds on to go down to the third tier again.

Kind of sums up exactly how I'm feeling about United. Although my anger/apathy switch alternates quite frequently. Isnt much between either mood.

I don`t know about that, the last days of Brearleys reign, in a three sided ground, were pretty bad.

The difference being that we were in the top 6 for most of the previous season, before starting the next reallly badly...hang on...

Considering we're still getting over 20k on on occasion, it's certainly not the most pissed off we've been.

Anyway, another semi-ITK on BM claims that the meeting was to put together a contingency plan to offer pay offs to management and some players.

I don't expect this to be true, but if it were, surely it would only be because it would be a clean slate for a new manager and investors next season regardless of division. Even I actually feel a little embarrassed even typing that.

Ah I see but the way its worded, the Extraodinary GM/BM just makes it seem this ITK'er just heard about theis and changed it up from a general meeting to a board meeting.

Perhaps they listened to the sack the board chants and they are writing out their own P45s.

Well, there's a distinct lack of anything on the OS so far today. Normally there's an inane story of some sort on there by this time of day but so far nothing. Is there some big news being held back for later??? I think i'm just getting a little bit cynical! :D

Although it's a bit beside the point, but are we really still getting c20k? I know that a season ticket is classed as a bum-on-seat regardless of whether you actually turn up. I've been looking around recently thinking "surely there isn't 20k here".

I thought the same TA.

Seems more like about 15,000 including the away fans.

There wasn't. The odd person would argue its impossible to tell but I would beg to differ. When we were getting about 21-22k last season there looked to be a great deal more inside the lane. You only have to look at the huge gaps in the kop now to realise there aren't that many in the ground.
