Noticed Southgate is a frequent visitor to the Lane, been there 3 times this season, I guess because he's living in Yorkshire its an easy trip for him to make.

I'm interested to know if anyone knows where those people go at half time, and what sort of hospitality they're treated to. Do they get their own bar area etc.. Maybe someone on here knows, and I thought it'd be worth asking.

He must have a T.V. see himself maybe, he follows the Sky televised games around. Makes him look busy.

I'm not exactly sure what seats he was in but

1 The directors box to the left exit at the top into a lounge with the directors - funnily enough

2 Those executive seats exit via the bottom, so I'd guess they go back into the platinum? suite on the ground floor for soup and sandwiches?

I've done the former but not the latter so not 100% sure, that would be my guess.

There's two gangways. The lower one goes into the Plat Suite, the top one into the directors lounge.

The plat is mostly paid corporate and match day sponsors, the directors lounge is generally invited guests of the club.

I have a membership in the Plat. Southgate goes in the Directors box. Members in the plat can either have a seat only or a meal package. If you have a seat only you get soup and coffee at HT. if you have a full package you get a 3 course meal before the match and soup at half time and a pie at ft. There is a bar in the plat. Open before during and after the game. The plat is hosted by John Garrett who goes through the teams an hour before kick off and runs the quiz. After the match he presents the Man of the Match with a bottle if champagne, does a quick interview with him and hands out momentoes to the sponsors - usually a framed signed shirt or ball. Sponsors get a champagbe reception in the Legends 3 hours before the kick off and a behind the scenes tour. They also get photos as a souvenir. The sponsors tables are hosted by Len Badger and Ted Hemsley. Other ex players who you will see in there after the game include Peter Duffield, Carl Bradshaw, TC and Kevin Gage

It is a bloody nightmare getting down to the Plat from the seats so by the time we have queued to get down there hou have to chuck your soup down you and rush back if you're going to see the start of the second half. That is the reason why the executive seats are often empty when the second half starts.

Whilst there are a few companies who use it, the vast majority in the plat are regulars who now pay around £125 a game for the meal package. The club put the price up by £50 a game when we were promoted so I’ve sold a Kidney and the kids to have a final season in there. Not worth it now but they didn’t announce the prices in there until after they've stopped selling STs elsewhere. We were all trapped. Won’t be doing that again. They have increased prices significantly from when we were in League one when the regulars kept it going.

Most people you see in the Directors box go into the 1889 suite which us similar to the Plat but more up market - the have a fine dining restaurant for example. As well as the 1889, the Directors have their boardroom of course where they entertain VIPs - so I suspect Southgate goes in there.

That's who Southgate is watching for the next England game....he wants to select him for squad next Wembley game....."get yer programs 3 squid a proggy....get yer proggys 3 squid....4.50 wiv a GCB...."

Spread over about 4 hours!

I've got a good appetite but I'm not sure I'd want a 3 course meal from about 1pm, then soup at 3.45 and a pie at 5.
