Excellent tonight

We were brilliant. When the biggest complaint is that we should've got 6 then you know we've played well.

Almost total domination. Staam must have thought they were playing Barcelona. We really should have won by a bigger margin.
Possession stats didn't look good, were Reading passing it around their backs and midfield trying to work an opening for a decent pass? (please!)

For my money, that was a typical United performance this season. Controlled the ball well, created several high quality chances and limited the opposition to very, very little.

We *were* utter crap Friday, that’s why it was such a shock - but by my reckoning that performance was a complete outlier (to date, any way). The rest of the season we’ve (generally) shown ourselves to be a very good Championship side, and that was evident again today.

We all wanted a positive response from the lads after Fridays disaster!!. I believe we got one!!!. Sharp was class and here's hoping Duffy's injury isn't too bad?. Bring on burton!!. Onwards and upwards. UTB

Anyone who thinks the Don didn't make a valuable contribution tonight needs to ask themselves how the hell else are a couple of central defenders supposed to be pulled around in order to make space for the fat lad to run into and create his special brand of confusion for opposition defenses. May I suggest that if those fans are fortunate enough and young enough still to play the beautiful game that they ask their club manager to stick 'em in a No 9 shirt and try it on for size for 90 minutes. They might then realize it's the most difficult position to play in, and get some proper perspective on what it entails. Ditto the knuckle-heads who want to get on Leon's case. We're back in the top 6 guys, and I'm getting tired of saying this but here goes again......"CHILL OUT"

Donaldson got a big reaction of respect late on for trapping a high Moore kick absolutely dead. He’s had quite a bit of stick from this evening, but I thought his approach play was generally good, and he was unlucky with the flick past the keeper when played through.

Cracking post that, completely agree.

I think we did well given the weather conditions not suiting us. I also think we should've killed that game off a lot sooner. Reading were dreadful and not beating them soundly would've been equally as dreadful.

If that penalty had gone in then I doubt we'd be talking about that performance as excellent. Much improved, decent even, but not excellent.

Keeping possession and having slow patient build ups is Readings style.

Think Japp Stam is from the same football school as David Weir.

Keith Edwards was doing his nut, saying it’s all pretty short passing but it’s not going anywhere, no penetration and no urgency from Reading. Edwards couldn’t believe how poor they were and he thinks Stam will be sacked sooner rather than later.

Good result, a decent but not brilliant performance, really should have beaten them by 5 or 6, Reading were woeful the poorest side I've seen this season.

Massive improvement on Friday but that's how it goes. Sometimes you have a bad day, important thing is to not let it become a bad run of any serious length.
Fair play to Wilder for calling them out instead of making excuses, fair play to the players for stepping up to the task.
Roll on Saturday.

Donaldson led the line well but he should've really punished them more. If he was on top of his game he would've had 2 goals there.

I thought it was made for Holmes to come on and kill them off. We were getting so much space.

Genius psychology by wilder...players put it in.....great save Moore, deadly Billy...outstanding Fleck...bring on Burton.....all the moaners..,cheer up,
Genius Psychology or at his wits end and having a bit of a rant? Either way, they needed that after Friday, but the response was excellent.
