Compared to the footstamping want it now overreaction on here, that article and thread is positively upbeat. They seem to have faith that their manager will bring in the right sort of players in good time.
This forum is generally over optimistic and over positive. Which is why you get such pissing and moaning whenever anyone criticises or doesn't blow smoke up the clubs arse. Every contentious poll on here is always favoured one way when generally other forum polls and wider sample sizes have either been more down the middle or have favoured the other.

Where's the proof we are sat twiddling our thumbs?

PROOF!!!

You're fucking kidding me, right? There has never been a grumpier collective than the fine fellows of this forum

But I would suggest that because we've signed a grand total of one less players than Charlton perhaps knickers could be untwisted for the moment. Just because Chris Wilder doesn't post on Twitter every five minutes about who he plans to sign then that's not really cause for panic. The transfer window hasn't slammed shut yet, and I can see no reason to sign the first Tom, Dick or Harry that looks available just so we've signed more than a different club has. I do agree that transfer planning should be well under way, however Chris Wilder sees fit not to tell me his every move, and I can't see any reason why he should tell anyone until the singing of a player is confirmed by the club and not some smart-arse "insider" who likes to tell his little secrets on here.

Tom, Dick and Harry have just been snapped up by Charlton for ten grand a week each. I'm off to make a brew with boiled piss.

Oh for fuck's sake, you're joking. We have no ambition, woe is me, all is lost, best give up now. :D

I gave up on pretty much everything a long time ago, doesn't half wind the fuckers up at work when you walk round with that "just don't give a fuck" expression ;)

I have worked for a very large company with many retail outlets. The moment of satisfaction I gained from telling them they could stick their job up their bottom nearly 14 years ago still makes me glad I did it.

Wish I could do that mate, I really could. Soul destroying really but I'm not letting the fuckers see that no way. Hard today though but hey ho.

Think you are missing the general point mi owd china. People can hold a negative view, have low expectations etc but there a small number of people who do NOTHING but slag the club off, make daily posts lamblasting the club for not doing XYZ or signing players they have recommended or even going full on chicken oriental because some league 2 defender didnt sign for us so we are been "left behind" - Its pathetic and boring and your slant never changes, ever. We could piss the league on 103 points next season and you would be exactly the kind of person to either moan we didnt get 104 points or "why didnt we do this 4 years ago" rather than enjoying the moment.

So maybe this isn't the forum for you?

Either here or BM is just fine. The water is clear and the mackerel are below, it really is a case of just dipping your rod in and pulling out the fish.

Just be clear on any consent issues before you dip your rod ;)

Just me, always had a penchant for the odd double entendre. Can you imagine if I'd ever joined the Police, investigating a burglary where someone had had their back doors smashed in? ;)

You would have to get your notebook out and take down their particulars.......

Where's the proof we are sat twiddling our thumbs?

Who representing SUFC has made excuses such as "they're on holiday"?

Charlton have only made 3 signings, 1 more than us.

Wilder has stated we are talking to players and clubs.

The manager.

To be fair, Barney is correct.

I'm not desperately worried yet as CW has also said that he expects things to happen this week and next and negotiations can become lengthy, look at George Long's new contract. Players work to their timetable not SUFC's, ours or mine.

As others have said, Coutts and co may still have a part to play next season, and if they do, I actually believe that CW could bring the best out of them.

If not, he'll soon ditch them.

We could sign the chuckle brothers, I hear they are good at passing the ball to each other, to me to you, to me to you.;)

You know what's a thousand times more tiresome than people voicing concerns over good potential signings going elsewhere?

Moaning about anyone voicing those concerns and labelling it "meltdown" when anyone who's paid attention in recent years should know this has cost us every season and should know the importance of signing players early and the impact of losing out to rivals. And we're now more desperate for new players than ever, and although we have a new manager there's no real evidence that suggests the club's going to start getting deals done.

Wilder's appointment, quickly naming Sharp as captain and two deals for Hussey and Duffy look like a false dawn. I admire Wilder's no-nonsense approach and his optimism, but I can't help but think that very little will change any time soon, with the same board at the helm.

Same Owd, as Beighton once said...
