I think a 1-0 loss to them at WHL is realistic, and of course gives us everything to play for at The Lane. Do away goals count?
Not until extra time. IE, 1-0 to Spurs at WHL then 2-1 to Blades at BL would take it to ET but if was still the same score after 120 minutes, Spurs would win. I think.

Lets just smash em 4-1 at home then...

I think we'll come back to the lane 2-1 down. I can see us going in at half time at the lane losing 0-1. Second half though, we'll come out of the blocks flying, get a penalty and then grab a second. Then just as it looks like we're going to extra time, Doyle let's fly from 40 yards and turns to go the whole length of the pitch with his cockney walk... Only for the Lino to rule it out for a controversial offside as Higdon is stood by the corner flag, but Trevor Brooking deems him to be 'active'. Spurs go up the other end and score a tap in

I think we might come back 2-0 down and still do it.

No way we are ever going to win the final though

I'm asking myself if it really would be worth flying over for a Blades v Chelsea final. I would, of course, because if the unthinkable happened and we won, I would regret my decision for all eternity

Can we play Franz Carr and Ian Bryson and emulate the 6-0

As to it definitely being chelsea if liverpool get sturridge back we just might get lucky.think pool are eminately more beatable

Think Clough has proven what a great 'big game manager' he is and as the playoffs are a cup in microcosm, I think we'd stand a good chance for a change. Would like to get rid of MK and Bristol though if we had to go up through that route.

We do need some of these rumoured players though.

Our impressive and deserved win over southampton looks even better after their win at old trafford takes them to 3rd

You know what? I reckon Koeman's ill-tempered rant after we beat them probably stems from his background. The standard in Dutch football is generally poor (see Higdon, M.) and it's almost inconceivable that a 'lowly' team would beat, say, Ajax or Feyenoord. That's why the little fat cunt got the hump.

Now if Pochettino thinks the same...

And they've beaten Arsenal and drawn with Chelsea since then too. I am starting to think that we have a chance against Spurs - In the last 18 months in all our games against higher opposition I can only remember being overrun by Hull in the first twenty mins of the second half at Wembley, For the rest we've more than held our own. If we can come back to the lane no more than two goals behind then you never know - I mentioned this to someone at the match yesterday and they said they thought we'd get hammered, I replied that I just want to see us win a cup before I die!!

Agree about the two goal deficit but that belief could just be our down fall.

Accepting that being two goals behind going to The Lane might be too high a hill to climb, go and smash 'em 1-0 Nige with 10 behind the ball and and one chance.

We're feeling slightly more positive because we've beaten Preston and put the Port Vale defeat behind us. But we're so far off automatic that a single defeat will immediately make us write off automatic again. I think its play offs at the very best and I am not even taking that for granted.

what we have to remember is its 2 legs , and stay in it not give up if we concede say 2 early , drag a goal back , late if neccesary so theres hope for the second leg, we might do better at theirs than ours way things are going, but I wouldnt take us lightly atallafter watching us dictate against a southampton side thats since shown how good they are. We must stay positive and pass and break as well as we have shown we can

We couldreally do with an away goal in the semi as it could make all the difference even if we lost by the odd goal, Spurs would much sooner take a narrow win with a clean sheet into the second leg than say a 2-1.
Play off final ................. lets worry about that if and when we get there.

If we did get through I think it would kill off any chance we have of promotion,I don't think we would even reach the play offs ,
Everybody would be saving them selves for the final and in this division in our position we can't afford to take our foot off the pedal ...

Take our foot off the pedal ?

I picture us more with a Flintstone's style car than one with all mod cons like pedals :)
