Shocking match and shocking ref.

I feel robbed but then again we shot ourselves in the foot once again today.

was it a dive or was there clear contact steve?

we defended again from when we went 1-0 down. sat back as always and they come onto us.

Id drop kenny for the next game and give bennett a chance. We need a keeper to challange kenny... carson on loan for next season?

were lacking in a central midfield player who can put the foot on the ball and play everyone in. we need another mccall.

Riley was shocking. absolute dire. Wants demoting to the championship.

We didn't go 1-0 down and how did we defend? I thought we kept going forward and we brought on another striker with more pace and an attacking midfielder? Warnock was screaming at them to get forward?!

There was definate contact, but he was going for the ball and it was more of a brush against his leg than anything. Definately not enough to send him sprawling.

Riley wants retiring not demoting, and the lino with yellow flag wants sacking for laughing at the refs poor decisions. Yeah, hilarious!

I can only describe it as "brushing his leg as he attempted to get the ball"

Of course Johnson falls over and makes it look worse than it was.

I don't fall over as easy as that. Neither does anyone outside the "pro" game.

my bad meant up!

when we were 1-0 up we sat back. then they scored, warnock decided to change it. He had to make one sub as morgan went of injured. he still had another sub to use. he wouldnt have put quinn on if morgan had not gone off injured.

typical jhonson. refs should be fined for poor performances. he was utter garbage.

when we were 1-0 up we sat back.

When?, I never saw us sitting back and inviting them on? we kept going forward. He was still urging players forward and kept telling CKR to ping the ball straight in.

He'd already brought Nade on and everything was going to plan, Kenny hadn't had a save to make until the penalty.

suppose so... i thought we were under it more and seemed to be in our half more till they scored then they held on for draw. we needed to make changes to go for the win.

Warnock must have been on the lash when he said fathi was best passer at the club. amount of times he gave it away.

CKR was simular... plays the wrong ball. holds onto it too much and tries doing the fancy stuff all the time.

Credit to hulse, did well holding it up.

Disappointed only drawing with a team in 6th place in the Premiership.

How far we have come.

Up The Blades!

:) :) :)

100% Agreed if you would have told the fans we would get 11 points out of 15 after the Man City match you would have laughed at them

Arsenal - 3 points, well what can i say ;)
Pompey -1 point, Unlucky not to win to be honest
Fullham - 3 points played amazing
Tottenham - 3 points, well played at home yet again
Everton - 1 point, once again unlucky not to win

i no we still have Watford West ham and Charlton and Wigan left at home i call that at LEAST 9 points

so why be angry when were all good :P

"The man of the match was clearly Ahmed Fathi, may His name be praised. He showed with one careless flick forward all that is missing from the English Premiershipleaguedivision, and the sooner every team of infidels has a mighty Egyptian warrior as their midfield engine, the better. That ginner Oirish midget fella was ok too."

It was a definate pen, it was hardly a brush on his leg!

Poor game, poor performence, big improvement needed.

Mike Riely has to be the worst ref I've ever seen. He just has to blow his whistle at any contact what so ever. The 1st half was woeful. The worst I've seen this season. Second half was so much improved. Got a goal from good work from CKR with Hulse supplying a good finish. We were in control after that and looked like collecting another vital win but we all know what happend. The result was disappointing after looking set for another win but it's another point on the table and thats what matters if we are going to stay up.

Fathi was my MOTM. Was average in first half but played ever so well in the second half. Looks a promising player.

I take it you saw it live and have watched it 5 times....like I have and still stand by what I say?

If all players go down that easy it's shamefull.

Yea but both teams were pretty shit for most of the game and we threw 2 points away in the end.

Before the game i would of took that

i still do its a good point for us as sf says!

Dissapointed at the goal we conceded a comedy of errors really :(

Kenny put his arm across johnsons leg.

No player would have stayed on his feet.

Wouldnt go as far as to say fahti was MOTM, if that was Tonge or Monty playing like he did today they would be getting destroyed by people.

No player would have stayed on his feet.

I believe Hulse would have.... but thats not the point, in my eyes it was a penalty.

Anyways, Riley made me laugh today, i believe we should have had a penalty when hulse was being wrestled just after their penalty, the "advantages" was laughable. twice he gave advantage to us and we then lost the ball and he carried on play, as soon as he gives an advantage to everton and they put it wide he blows for free kick. tut.

Anyways, poor game which we should have won, We restricted Everton and we looked like the only team who would come away with victory.

And another thing, why do we keep letting CKR take corners? Highly frustrating when all he does is float the ball in. We need them whipping in to have more chance of scoring.

I thought Fathi was poor for quite a few periods of the game, only saw little moments of him showing quality to be honest.

From where i was sat it looked more like a brush on the leg, don't like watching MOTM after this sort of cock up loses us 2points.

Kenny made the same cock up in the first half remember by missing the ball but got away with it.

I agree that Fathi hasn't exactly flown out of the traps but i have seen some encouraging signs that suggest he has the ability to play at this level.

Fair enough some of his passing was wayward but i was pleased with his work rate and was happy to see him shooting from the edge of the area on at least one occasion.

I was also impressed with his involvement in the neat interchange of passing that lead to a chance early in the game (can't remember the other players involved).

Anyway, i hope that we don't hang this guy out to dry before he is given a chance to settle and show what he can do - i can see him being a similar player to Benayoun once he is settled.

One other point, if Everton are a top 6 club then i truley beleive we are not far away from emulating their success. I have seen us play them both home and away and am yet to be impressed, i feel we are only a couple of quality midfielders away from being as good as them.

very very true mate. I do see fathi becoming a big hit.

Yeah.....shut the club down I say!

Just a point against a top 6 side.

Just not good enough!

In the context of the game, Everton's position in the league is irrelevant. Anyone who looks at the game will see that Everton were poor and created very little. We weren't much better but in the end we've only conceded a goal through a terrible mistake. So yes, we threw 2 points away just as we did against Portsmouth (who were also top 6 and also poor on the day).
Don't understand why Bladesman's comment brought such a sarcastic and over-the-top reaction as I'm sure most Blades are disappointed we didn't see out the game and collect the 3 points.
The Everton fan I went to the game with was delighted with a point in the context of the way the game panned out, whereas before the game he wanted nothing but a victory.

That doesn't mean we're all doom and gloom and it doesn't mean we're gonna stage a protest in the car park, but 3 pts would have been a big step towards safety. Hope the players (especially Paddy) put this behind them and get their heads up for the next game - it's crucial our heads don't drop for the games against the bottom 3...

I voted MOTM Stretch - big improvement from his recent form

RE: Johnson. After comments from Warnock and Mourinho earlier in the season, I do believe Johnson is making a concerted effort to stay on his feet more. It was a definite pen, but (and I'd had a fair few pints beforehand so I'm not 100% here) wasn't it more of a stumble over Paddy's hand rather than an out-and-out dive? I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one

Yep none of Bladesman's posts are over the top, or sacastic, are they??

Sarcastic?? sometimes :)

League place irellevant?? I wish ours was as irellevant as theirs!

;)

Between the 1st whistle and the last whistle, how is a team's league position relevant?

Everton, Portsmouth and Arsenal have provided 3 of the poorest performances at the Lane this season

I see what you are saying, but given that the league is an indication of quality then it is very relevant.

We all felt like we lost yesterday with how the game played out, but the truth of the matter is, they are 6th in the league on merit. All Silverfox is saying (in a round about and attempted humourous way) is that we've come along way if a draw against 6th in the Premiership causes the reaction it has in some people.

All teams have good and bad games, but the league table is a defining reflection of quality and consistancy, which makes it all the more relevant.

If it doesn't matter between the first and last whistle, I presume you'd react the same to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Rotherham as you would against Man U?

My comment was meant to be humerous.

Never mind.
