They seem quite happy about this ...

Absolute bullshit. He doesn't deserve it whether he came through the ranks or not.
Sorry but they'll be players who worked their backsides off, kept their head down only to be released without a second thought.
He's had his chances, slagged off the club on social media and now he's getting a playing contract as a reward. Invite him to train with the U-23's next year all they like but what precedent are they sending to the kids already here: "don't worry about that working hard and not taking what you have for granted malarkey, you can fuck up all you want, we'll give you a contract as long as your Scouse."
'Can't say I really agree with this signing, I remember seeing him absolutely off his tits at a festival a few years ago when he was meant to be injured hahaha. The twitter reaction has made it all worthwhile though, absolute anarchy on my timeline.'
'How can Unsworth punish a player for poor behaviour when they have actively embraced a player who has been given a number of chances and has failed his club?
But, there are players cheating on their wives, drink driving and countless other things and still continuing their career in every tier, league and country in football. It's just how it is now. I've seen a few Liverpool fans lambasting this decision which stinks of hypocrisy as they're still supporting Firminho.
'If you're from Bootle why the fuck would you call your kid Jose?'
'Dad tried to write 'Josh' on the birth certificate after a Yates lock-in'
'nonononononononononononononononononono'

Then there's Baxter who left the club after we offered him a new contract, failed a drug test, got a second chance and fucked that up as well and now we're giving him a THIRD chance when he'll be 25-years-old by the time he walks through the gates?!
'He's 25 and failed two drug tests!
He's had a great talent that can set him and his family up for life and he fucked up twice. He's old enough to know that. It's ruthless but he simply doesn't deserve it.'
Then there's the kick in the teeth to all the other young lads who had better attitudes than Jose, yet the 25-year-old druggy is given a contract and a third chance to make it.
Sorry but no matter how many people here say "it's good to look after our own here" he's the one person who doesn't deserve what he's getting'
