Evans/Leonard

watched it on ifollow.
Those 2 new guys in midfield made us far more positive than recent weeks. There was a higher tempo to moving forward rather than the constant sideways shuffling the ball of the last few weeks.
Much more like the games prior to Coutts getting injured.

keep those 2 in and use Lundstram for cover if they get tired or injured and we will soon be back on track for the playoffs.

Also not sure about Leon being captain? To me he doesn't seem as threatening as he did 2 months ago. i would give the captaincy to Fleck, Basham, Stearman if Billy is not starting. to me Leon is better left as a free spirit

Not sure what Lundstram has done to deserve to have his place taken by Evans?

Evans looked tidy but no more or less than Lunny. Him and Duffy have been our best players the past month or so.

You're right that Lunny had been doing well but that midfield three today looked very, very strong. Lunny came on when it was time to see things out defensively. I suspect we'll just see more rotation and team sheets more geared to the opposition.

I think Lunmy is a safe pair of hands but can be a bit more hesitant on the ball which can slow our play down. I think he'll be back to his old role now before Coutts mashed his leg, of coming on when hes needed, except he'll now have the faith of the crowd as everyone will know he can do a job.

Literally spent most of the first half going "who's that?" Haha... We looked a lot more immediate with them on though I have to say, and it gave Duffy an actual rest.

Going forward it's looking good. And Holmes has a top knot so I'll be able to recognise him so that's good.

Must admit I knew nothing of Evans before he signed. Sounds like someone who is always available and keeps the ball moving forward. Wilder went back to basics today, very much similar to the line up away at the pigs to get things back on track.

It's not that he's done anything wrong to deserve it, just that he slows things down and spoils our style of play. Many have pointed that out during our bad spell and it was very evident today that the tempo was much, much higher. It could of course just be a one off but hopefully we can have that high tempo back now with the new faces in the side, and start to see results get back to what they were.

I was impressed with Evans vision, thought he played very well. I felt Leonard gave the opposition too much room, wasn’t overly impressed with his debut.

You’re right, but what is also true is that we’ve not been getting results the past month or so and something had to change. With Coutts I always felt we were pushing forwards and probing, as opposed recently where, whilst we’ve appeared comfortable in possession, we haven’t looked dangerous.

For me, we looked a lot more like our old selves today and completely dominated the midfield. The new boys and Fleck were flying into 50/50s, defending on the front foot and carrying and passing the ball superbly. Fantastic debut from Lee Evans today, thought the centre halves looked solid and Simon Moore was composed again, but the man of the match today, by a country mile, was John Fleck. Sadly, if he keeps that form up, he will be in the Premiership with or without us next season. His game had everything today. If he can add goals to his game he will be the complete player.

My only moan - our set pieces are still poor and our crosses from open play are still rarely beating the first man. The attacking end product of Enda Stevens and George Baldock is (particularly in the case of the former) not good enough. Looking forward to seeing Freeman come back into the fold.

Against the snorters, when we were running around in a blind panic, just “hacking” at the ball. We needed our midfield to slow things down and pick a pass.......They simply couldn’t to do it.
Unfortunately for Lunny, he’s the one that’s seemingly paid the price.

Wouldn’t say it was because of Lunny. Lunny was the one who built most of our play.

All the midfield are under pressure including Fleck who did play much better today.

Lundstram is a good player, still young and his time will come but had we kept it as is we would’ve continued falling to mid table.

Refreshing things was just what we needed. Both move things a bit quicker than Lunny does, he’ll play his part but needs a couple of games out for now. We haven’t been enough of a threat going forward, today we looked like the United of old.

Evans and Leonard were great today

rubbish signings, mainly due to the fact watching on ifollow i can't tell which one is which, both seemed to fit in well though i think. was much easier with a midget, a ginger and coutts

Get one of those daft Scottish ginger wigs on one, then again if Fleck is playing.....

Like moved the ball forward, at speed and picked out a man and a pass and supported and not just done a chuckle brothers all game and had a shot on target and and and. Go on, I'll get shot down, but you ever played midfield?

No he didn't build most of our play. He didn't build anything. Being there and playing a wall pass in the middle third without penetration is not building anything. being there is different to doing something. Jeez, this infuriates me.

He’s been our best player for weeks now. Man of matches don’t lie mate. There voted by the fans.

And his away performances have been even better. If you don’t rate Lundstram now as being a decent footballer you don’t know anything.

I don't lie. I have an opinion which differs from yours. You ever played midfield?

As he's been that good, maybe you can tell me why our esteemed and trusted and lauded leader immediately replaced him and we got a win?

Oh and by the way, that was an away game.
