No not really. But I do find it slightly annoying that Hecky feels the need to keep looking in other directions when he he being asked questions and looking evasive. Some of the times the sound quality isn't the best as he is t talking into the mic. His technique in interviews reminds me of when my lads were young pups and when I wa asking them things if they had done something wrong. They also used to keep looking away as if they wanted to get away .. 😄

I know what you mean, but I think it makes him look mysterious and enigmatic.

Not a trace of irony here, guv.

Yeah he hasn't looked happy to be in any of the interviews this pre season.

I suspect it's just having to deal with a travelling press crew, with everything else going on.

Who knows though. He often sounds bored with journalist's questions.

I don’t think he likes pre season & transfer window questions.

In his interview Saturday you could tell how annoyed he was by the NDiaye stuff and wanted to say more.

Heckys at his best on a big match day.

was never going to be anything but pedestrian , the heat over here just now is so oppressive, was 45 to 47 c where I am and you get a sweat on lifting a bottle of alcohol free lager up,
they are a portuguese top league side and no mugs,
Thought we contained them without much trouble ,
and our passing was neat but unspectacular
created one or 2 and could have sneaked it,, what we will need to do in the prem

but after the new year he faded and it was the same old Norwood. A good game followed by a was he even on the pitch game. He's always been consistently inconsistent and we need consistency
its a wonder how we got 90 plus points aint it
stats say norwood was as consistent as any championship midfielder

25 degrees today hardly death valley in estoril (in the shade where the temp is took )

My concern with Osula is ok he's got the youthful power and pace now but as he gets older and his body takes a few knocks and he starts slowing down... What are you left with... not much really imho.
You're left with experience, positional sense, and the knack of conserving energy for when it really matters rather than running round like a headless Matt Done.

25degrees this afternoon ,will feel hot in the sun but mean temp is around 25 degrees
We had to get the taxi to stop at the hotel on the way from the ground to the Craft Beer Bar so we could get our jumpers. It was windy & nippy at game time.

That's because he is lying most of the time.
If he hasn't asked when Brewster and nozza will be fit he isn't doing his job

I thought Freckleton looked better than Francis in both matches. He could be the surprise of the summer. He looked very comfortable and composed in both matches and didn't come across as an academy player. He stood out amongst Brooks, Sachdev, Osula, Marsh and Neal.

I would have liked to see Buyabu again, he was good on Saturday but left back is going to.be hotly contested. If RND comes back he'll be forth in the list so a loan move wouldn't go amiss for his development.

Does anyone know what's happened to Coulibaly? I'm assuming injured?
I think he looks a fantastic talent Freckleton

The concern for me regards Osula is the finishing and end product. I do think he's our best product, he's got pace and power but just seems to lose composure in front of goal. He's a threat there's no doubt about that and he's young which means he can still improve. The problem we have is we won't be creating as many chances in the Premier League as we were in the Championship and we can't afford to be wasting chances when we get them.

If it was me, I'd be looking at loaning him to the Championship until Christmas and then have another look in January whether he can make the step up. He has something that the rest of our strikers don't have, which is a positive but I still think he needs a spell of scoring goals regularly at Championship level.

I think osula and jebbo both could be anything they want , id like to see them loaned out to a european league no point with the championship i dont think sitting on the bench at stoke would be good for either look at liam delap who was meant to be the next best thing

Get them both to the Eredevise or somehwere like that
That leaves us with Illy (assuming he stays) an injury prone McB and a completely unknown quantity in Traore.. Two strikers with decent experience with responsibility of scoring enough to keep us up.
Yet again you maintain your perfect record in posting even more stupid, clueless rubbish with every "contribution". Any normal person would realise they were completely out of their depth, cut their losses and find a forum where knowing absolutely nothing about a subject dosen't matter.

Don’t Loan Osula out he’s good enough for the prem for me. Your post
How many goals would he score in the league Traore has just come from. Your post #113.

You clearly have issues maintaining an opinion before reversing it.
You seriously qualify as the least knowledgeable poster by the biggest country mile ever.

To me he looks in front of jebbo ,I'd loan jebbo out and have osula in the match day squad ,could really impact a game ,and the lad can finish , even after s24su experts write him off for fluffing a couple

Whilst I do agree he looks a bit raw in front of goal at the moment, it wouldn't come as a shock to see him start putting those chances away soon - he has consistently shown himself to be a composed and capable finisher at u23 level for two seasons now. It could be a bit of nerves or expectation playing their part but once he settles I do think he'll start to show that he can be really capable in front of goal. The goal (which was onside!) that he scored yesterday was typical of what he's shown at those youth levels.

He can finish he’s scored some great goals for the juniors I felt like he was snatching at chances against Chezzy probably felt like he had to take his chance and make his mark. Last night he was better in that regard the goal that should’ve stood was a good finish and the overhead kick was lovely and he was very unlucky. Last night the biggest area for improvement would be his work without the ball he got an earful off Hecky a few times about when to press and when not too. It’ll come with experience though.

To add to the Osula/Jebbo debate. Neither of them look ready for Premier League football yet. I imagine that one will go loan and the other will get a spot on the bench, so they could be in competition with each other for this role over pre-season. Neither will start for us so the debate is almost irrelevant.

Over the two pre-season matches Osula has been better, granted he's played an extra game, but his control is poor. He takes 2-3 touches to get the ball under control. You won't get that in the Premier League. It's one touch to set up the shot/pass, second touch is the shot/pass, or the first touch is the shot if the ball through is good. A lot of our players are guilty of this, particularly around the edge of the 18 yard box resulting in easily blocked shots. We lack ruthlessness, something Rhian was starting to show prior to injury. We have to be more clinical and take shots sooner. I'd rather someone took a gamble, hit it early and miss than watch a poor effort hit a defender or go straight down the middle at the keeper.

Jebbo, on the other hand, is guilty of hesitant decision making. In the build up to Fleck's free kick he was driving towards goal with a player clear to the left and right of him and defenders immediately in front of him. So a shot on goal for himself was never going to be an option. He held onto it no even knowing that there were two players waiting to be released on either side. Granted he got pulled back and won a free kick, but the decision to hold onto the ball was poor. I can't remember if he was involved in the mix up Ndiaye where both beat the offside trap down the left and should have had a 2 on 1 against the keeper. Instead they got in each others way and lost the ball.

For me both could benefit from going on loan and playing meaningful footall. Jebbo impressed at League One so regular Championship football could bring him on. Osula was underwhelming at Derby so another loan at League One could benefit him. I'm sure only one will go on loan if Brewster returns before the window closes. That would give us McBurnie, Brewster, Ndiaye, Traore and one of Jebbo/Osula to carry us through to January. I'd rather send Osula on loan and keep Jebbo.

It'll be interesting which prospects will get one of the 25 shirts. So far based on the two pre-season matches it would be Freckleton for me.

I'd be amazed if Brewster is available to start before Xmas. Traore is a complete unknown and McB is injury prone. We simply can't loan any strikers out leaving only Illy if he stays that can be relied on.

But we also can't rely on two youngsters with little to no playing experience to call upon in the Premier League.

Can't remember the exact quote but I'm sure he basically said exactly that last season when every single pre and post interview he did he was getting battered by questions about Berge and his future at the club. If I remember correctly he said something like "I'm here to manage, I don't get involved with that stuff so you mayswell stop asking"

Quite liked that to be honest, I know as fans we're on the edge of our seat to know if our top players are staying, I'm getting itchy teeth wanting to know or Ndiaye is staying but what do they expect? Hecky to say "oh yeah, nowts been agreed, finalised and allowed to be shared publicly but... Let's just say we're stocking up on N's at the club shop wink wink"

That's why I would take Jebbo over Osula
I’m talking about Traore, he is also a youngster and has less playing experience than Jebbo and zero experience of playing in England, yet we seem to be pinning our hopes on him and discarding our promising youngsters as not good enough to make their mark at the moment. Fingers crossed Traore is good enough but all he has shown at the moment is promise, promise in a poor league. Jebbo and Osula have also shown promise, so much so that some of Europes top clubs are after Jebbo so they should not be discarded in our thoughts for the season imo.
