not the usual thing but someone had a little dig so there you go , mine division 4 kenworthy scoreing with a diving header as we win the league also season after i think we played them in the league cup and for sum reason they were given the john st west side after the game there fans got a right kicking the days of pringle jumpers and filla tops

Particularly enjoyed that match too, especially coming a couple of weeks after we'd tonked a promotion rival 4-0 on their own patch.
Vaguely remember before the first game their manager (Peter Morris ?) being quoted as saying something along the lines of....."Sheffield United will have so much defending to do that they won't even get out of their own half".
Brilliant scenes at The Lane at the end of the match, first time I'd see United do anything other than get bloody relegated.

I remember that game too - and the away game that season when they were boasting about beating us and we thrashed them by the same scoreline.

Tomorrow will be another 4-0 victory over Port Out Starboard Home.

What has this got to do with Pedro Verde? Dunno. All I know is his real name was Peter Green.

Think that was in the League Cup in Aug/Sep 1984. For the first couple of games of the season the away fans were housed in John Street West because we had to implement safety upgrades to the Lane end having been promoted to division 2.

Cheers Pal :)
I prefer to remember good games when we were better than what we are now
But if you had a to have a memories thread v Wrexham I might be interested especially 1979
I have good memories about the shit teams we played but prefer to remember the good old days
The 4th Div was OK it got me to my 92 grounds as it must have done for a lot of Blades
This 3rd Division is proving to be a pain in the ass
Football has changed dramatically in those years certainly not for the better
If you had to ask me about memories v Scunthorpe I would say very dull lol

PS I know we are talking about Peterbrough and the promotion game at their ground was a great day
but not as good as the victory over Cardiff 5-1 at the Lane to more or less secure promotion to the
First Division

Remember beatin em 4-0 last game of some season , we were sat in corner of John street , and there was something to do with HMS Sheffield and the Falklands war , and they disrupted it and our fans went potty , remember a guy wearing a West Ham top in with their fans as we walked around pitch after game .

Thought it was 4-1 , think we equalised with a screamer , then well downhill , although the half bottle of whiskey might have dulled my memory .
SB ?
Don't really like prawn cocktail crisps after this game . ;)
Those on our coach will know what I mean .
