Good threat on Twitter by The Pinch going over some post-Brexit employment rules I wasn't aware of:

TLDR; we only have one space remaining for international players who don't have a good number of appearances with their national team. So the era of Bulgaria-ball will likely be coming to an end soon, leaving us only able to sign players from British clubs or more established international players.

Under this system it's always going to be a punt ,as we've seen nothing yet if 2 of them we will have to wait and see how it goes .hopefully we unearth a few gems

Good job The Pinch is here to show COH the error of their ways.

Although Miriam on Bledsnoforrins on My Space is still adamant August will see 10 players from the Bulgarian 2nd Division in our team.

We’re not going to be bringing them in by the dozen though are we?

Say we do add 4. In the meantime assume they are not all dead ducks in which case they will be let go.

Jefferson graduates to the Peru team as a full international, one of the others kicks on and achieves international honours.

Suddenly they start to accrue more points and we then have more free spots to exploit.

We’re not just going to be in the business of stockpiling shite. They’ll have a year or two to kick on or they’ll be moved out to create room for the next one.

This will just form part of a wider strategy. It won’t be the only strategy.

Could we loan some players out creating space for new ones to go into the development teams?

Yeah my main issue with it is that it closes the opportunity to sign higher quality (but not currently international) players from abroad. If we, for example, sold Hamer - it would significantly reduce the pool of players we can bring in to replace him. We'd have to look at either domestic (expensive) or foreign internationals (expensive).

Some foreign internationals are more expensive than others. The trick will be finding that rare player out there with the requisite caps for, say, Tuvalu or Botswana, who has the potential to play at a decent level

No, even if we loan them out it takes up one of our ESC places
Yep the work around others use is to register them with sister teams in the same group and then the main club in the group gets first refusal on them if they become good. It should’ve been how the United World system worked but wasn’t.

Becomes very difficult to get a GBE for countries ranked outside the top 50.

Rules out some surprisingly decent countries. No Chileans for us.

For every 20 Bulgarians we bring in only one will make it anyway.

We'll be fine.
