Thoughts on the kit?

Is this whole thread some big wind up I'm not in on ?

Best thread in decades! Brilliantly OTT
Does anyone know where this video was filmed?

Do you have any suggestions for where future kit release videos will be filmed?

* I don't really care, but 200 pages is the dream.
Suggestion:

Entire squad gets off the tram at Cathedral Square in all three versions of the 2023/24 kits.

They then play keepy uppy all the way up Fargate, across the Peace Gardens, down The Moor, through the St Mary's underpass and up to Bramall Lane.

Make 'em walk to the ground like the rest of us! ;)

Simples.

Reveal all 3 kits in 1 video? That kind of madness will never happen. More likely to get individual videos for all 3 keeper kits next season, why have 3 days worth of random video content when you can have 6!

What counts as bold and radical? A giant minge declaring jihad on Nottingham Forest? What did you have in mind?

We could've gone with a motif or a pattern. Maybe something whacky that might risk dividing opinion, but wouldn't be underwhelming.

We could've revamped the badge as well, at least for the 3rd kit (something as simple as removing the border) Something I know you're in favour of, and I'm now fully on board with too.

Fair enough. I see nowt do get mad about, really. It's black and gold and pretty sleek looking. Not every shirt can be a classic! It's certainly nicer than the away kit for me.

Just getting a like for that first bit.

Yellow shirt with red trim, red shorts, red socks.
I'm not sure why we never do this. It'd go down like a freshly baked loaf.
Not sure how to remove that thing at the bottom left like, but I made this in about 20 mins. Not fuckin rocket science yoonited. New Balance sponsor just because.

Black polyester, no pattern…
Hardly any contrast (gold)…
Sponsor logo isn’t gold it’s the closest shade of brown they could find to gold and therefore looks shit…

If this bespoke thing means we as a club get to choose the design then who the fuck was involved in that; John Garrett?
3 shirts and 3 lots of very split opinions. I guess it would be a boring world if we were all the same but never known such differing views. Like marmite shirts lol……

All three kits underwhelm me.

Time to think outside the box SUFC and Errea design teams.
The reason why we like a retro kit is because the original was in fact 'original'.

Revisiting such original shirts and revising them works well if they were popular first time around.

So the 3rd kit should be a radically different test area not a sad safe bet - those that work will stick and be revisited in decades to come.

Kits are usually memorable for a reason, they were original!

Like the home and away kits but the 3rd kit to me looks just like a black polo shirt. Plus I don’t really like footy shirts with collars anyway. However I do like the black and gold colour combination but this effort looks very ‘Fruit of the Loom’.

I'm too young to know this but it makes me wonder how those that are considered retro classics today were received when first released, like some of the Umbro ones from the 80s and 90s for example?

Granted there was no internet back then and not as many fans purchased replica shirts quite like the present day.

I'm not so sure. A lot of clubs have gone for garish designs in recent seasons and I'm not a fan. Spurs are serial offenders

And then there's that awful chelsea shirt:

Some one once said that there are three things certain in life

1 Births
2 Deaths
3 Sheff Utd fans moaning about the kit

;)

🎶

No shirts in t' store yet,
No red stripes to gladden my eyes,
The Admiral deal's dead
We've Errea instead
Wi' t' same kit woes since Eighteen Eighty-Nine!

That's it then. My clothes end up fucked so may as well buy em fucked.
Kids football shirts are made for playing football in, they aren’t fashion wear and if people are wearing them as fashion wear then some shit stitching is the least of their worries 🤣

Now that we're used to the interchangeability of the home and away kits (i.e. either shorts and/or socks with either shirt), might I suggest that we have a fourth kit too: gold with black trim, so we can interchange that as well?! 🤣

I'm going to get both the 3rd kit and the corresponding keeper one too.

I've just not yet decided which size to gamble on.

So it could be three months of eating like Mousse or walking around for the same period wearing a bin liner like Leon Clarke!

Got to be honest. When you compare our kits to that of Beerschot and Chateauroux they are very basic. Liked it with our home and away kits as they are simple retro looking kits but had hopes for some detailing in the 3rd. Obviously not seen any close ups but looks just plain black with gold trim? No little blades in the fabric etc from first glance and that is disappointing for me.

The website describes it as - "The new third kit has been designed with a theme of classic Italian elegance and style whilst celebrating the city’s heritage of football."

I don't dislike like it but the training gear is more exciting than this

“whilst celebrating the city’s heritage of football."

I assume this meant bleak!
