Thoughts on the kit?

The comments about the new kit supplier reminds me of the 'banter' from pig fans re the 2000 home shirt with 'Blades' on the front - 'hahaha you can't even afford a sponsor'.....pretty sure that's not how sponsorship works, lads.

Kit Supplier is a well of outrage that will never run dry for our fans:

Smaller supplier: "poor quality", "tinpot"

Big name supplier: "kits too expensive", "template designs" "club get a tiny % of sales"

Then we go again when the main sponsor gets announced (although I think its Randox for the next couple of years, criminal charges notwithstanding).

If Wendy got Errea I would say it's tinpot so I can't really be a hypocrite. Can't see the shop doing that great next season with Errea gear and naff homemade blades hoodies
Why not just wait to see what it looks like when their stuff comes out?! I have a really nice blades hoodie, bought from the club shop, and that's not made by Adidas neither.

It was always gonna be a sad day when the adidas deal ended. But close to 10 years with any kit manufacturer in this day and age is unusual so to do it with arguably THE football brand is great. Combined with the success on the pitch, some of the shirts will go down as classics.

Whoever we moved to was going to be a step down. I’m happy it’s a brand we’ve not been with before. Intrigued to see what they offer up that is specific to us as a club and what is used as reference points within the designs. We may not see the best of the deal until the second season but they may give us some nice, unique kits and be a brand we look back on fondly like Boro fans do on some of their 90’s shirts.

It's a fair point. I can only go on what I have seen so far and all Errea kits I can find online and most of the in house blades stuff looks pretty tacky if I'm being honest.

Look at the Errea training gear on here. It is Sunday league standard

We should get Stone Island to make the kits. Not only are the fabrics top class, but McBurnie might feel more at home on the pitch then.

“Get badge in”.

Reminds me of Avec. Naff as ****. They will probably bring out a diamond shirt next.

Shirt sales will probably do ok. I know the shop sells a hell of a lot of Adidas training gear, will the better deal make up that shortfall I'm not so sure

Anyone who says "white makes us look like Stoke" wants to go and have a look through the historical kits site and see how many times us and Stoke have had red, white or half and half stripes down the middle. The difference is negligible. Stop whining, if you don't like it, it'll be different next season anyway.

I'm not totally against changing supplier, especially if we can get a better control/design on making unique kits.
Based on Errea's existing one's can't say they blow me away at all. The adidas one's even if templates always look good in my opinion.

Would like us to go back to Umbro, that would be cool!

It all sounds like a completely financial decision and I'll reserve judgement until we see if it's true and what the designs are like.

Mechelen Home Shirt season 21/22. Red stripe in middle, stripes on front, back and sleeves. Change yellow for White whats not to like.

Of course we won't get this template. We'll have Reeves the Commercial Manager trying to tell us again Errea don't do stripes and you can't read names on the back of shirts with stripes so as not to look a fool.

Who ever we have as kit supplier the small number of etch a sketch designers at the Lane will still come up with stripes on the front only. They seem oblivious to the over riding view of the fans that stripes on the front, back and sleeves is part of SUFC's DNA.

But as a fan the main thing I'm interested in is the shirts and for me the home shirts bar one have all been poor in terms of design, last seasons and the season we got promoted are two of the worst we've ever had in my view
Nah, I'd disagree with that.

The League 1 promotion shirt, Bounce Killer shirt and 1st PL shirt were all great. Probably in our top 10.

If the CH promotion shirt had carried on the stripes on the back, that would have been a beauty
