Thoughts on the kit?

Btw i'm not furious or owt, don't think many are, just commenting it looks a bit naff. It's difficult to explain how, maybe if theres a graphic designer or somet on here they would understand. But errea just dont seem to know how to turn a good design on paper into a good design on the shirt. They've somehow made a very solid, hard-to-screw-up design look shit with something as simple as stripe width balance between the red and black. It just looks tinpot how the red is too thin given the thick outlines. And if it's anything like the home shirt I'm guessing the quality of material and stitching will be sub-par too
I’m trying to gauge if it’s actual issues or whether it’s a bit of snobbery.

I was in London a few weeks back and there was a lad in the boozer with a black QPR shirt on. Turned around and got chatting to him and it was made by Errea. Possibly the nicest kit I’ve seen in a while and loads of detail in the material. But I also noticed they’ve got a new away kit now and that looks class.

Perhaps the close ups in the moody launch videos aren’t doing it justice as the match pics, close ups of people wearing and the way the players wear them I think the home certainly looks good

I like the design of the collar better on the away (less Pyjama like) and at first glance looks a decent shirt too.

We probably need a 3rd kit in a block colour which is neither too light nor too similar to the home (for us colour blindees), probably black or a purple again

Average! Don’t understand the hype some of the in the know people were giving it
With sponsor and the 2 pinstripes clearly clashing, surely best just to do something like this?

Instead they've literally just placed it over the top like a text box on a word document. Little things like that make it look tinpot.

Been trying to figure out why I don’t like any of the kits - quality aside. Come to the conclusion it’s because Errea don’t have any “brand trim” compared to Adidas 3 stripes, Hummel chevrons, even Macron and Kappa have an extra little detail of branding. It just looks like a knock off kit from a market for me.

All this shite about stripes on the back from the club on the home kit is hilarious too, sign a contract to be able to get stripes but then for the EFL to not allow them next season. Better to stick with Adidas as I can’t imagine won’t the abomination will look like next year

Here are the shirts where we DEFINITELY can't wear our home shirt...

Of those teams, we won't wear the White shirt at Bristol City, Rotherham and Stoke. Not because of the tiny red stripe we have, but because of the white sleeves on the home kits.

The remaining teams in the division we can wear the following...

HOME, AWAY or THIRD
Birmingham
Blackpool
Burnley
Cardiff
Coventry
Huddersfield
Hull
Luton
Norwich

HOME or THIRD
Blackburn
Preston
QPR
Reading
Swansea
West Brom
Wigan (some refs would allow away)

HOME or AWAY only...
Millwall

In theory, the third shirt is only required for 3 games.

Also, for what it's worth, here are Stoke and Bristol City's away shirts..

That Bristol away top is an absolute beauty. Wish we'd gone for Hummel.

Well i like it. Agree that it should have been more like the Sabella shirt a la the Bristol City one but nonetheless I still think it looks good.

Interestingly both my 18yr old and 15yr old lads really like it too

Think you’ve got a point about the brand trim. Get some black errea diamonds down the shoulder seam and the side seam and it’s more branded… but some won’t like that either 😂

As for stripe bans. Fuck the EFL, we’ll do what we want and take the fine and points deductions. We won’t be dictated to by these faceless bureaucrats in Brussels/ London etc.

And besides we’ll be premier league next year so EFL can do what they want

Have to say, Stoke have nailed it for kits this year. £48 a shirt, available without sponsors logo (which is impressive bearing in mind they own the club) and classy designs. Lessons to be learned.

Literally the most Blades thing ever.

Play a blinding season via a tight race for autos. Clinch a spot on the last day only to have a points deduction for stripes that lowers us in yo the play offs. Lose in the first round. Wednesday get promoted. Never hear the end of it.

As for the kits... meh. Don't love em, don't hate em. I still don't like stripes on the back or pin stripes though.
