Lots of rumours about Erik Edman signing on loan from Wigan! He needs a new chance and I think he would do well imo.

He is certainly better than what we have got!

For those who can't understand Swedish I let google help you :)

Declined storklubb: "They do not have to move"

Erik Edman's long football journey continues.

Next stop: Sheffield United.

Table Eight in the Championship probably Swede borrows from Wigan season out.

Despite the bad with playing time and a degrading role in Wigan 1-9-defeat against Tottenham has many clubs chasing the left hill, whose contract expires this summer.

- A strong interest has come from Dutch clubs and recently thanked Erik against a German storklubb who wanted to borrow him spring out, "said agent Allan Bak Jensen Sportbladet.

Instead, choose according to Edman Sportbladet sources and English media data to provide emergency team Wigan and lent during spring with pay, according to previous publications 1.7 million kronor a month, to Sheffield United.
Strong interest

Sheffield United to address the Premiership is eight in the Championship, but has only two points up to a kvalplats the top division.

- Sheffield United would fit Erik very well. The club has expressed a keen interest to borrow Edman says Bak Jensen. But the name is not entirely clear.

- A loan to Sheffield would also fit for social reasons. Eric Hanna and his wife are expecting their third child, and when they do not have to move, "said Bak Jensen.
"Need Matches"

The probable klubbytet means that 31-year-old represents his eighth professional club since moving from Helsingborg 1999th

And it may become more compounds of the outspoken left-hand slope.

Sportbladet have not managed to reach Erik Edman for comment, but he has earlier this autumn said:

- I feel I have the capacity to play at a high level of three, four years more. But I need matches to get back in really good shape.

The move to Sheffield United could offer him the chance to prove it. And pave the way for yet another attractive Bosman Transfer of Cases to the summer.

Purely speculation on my part but I think Blackwells thinking about moving Naysmith on, his age, fitness and wages will be the reasons cited, certainly the best left-back we have but with him being out-of-contract in the summer (i think?) I see this happening. I though this was why Naughton was imminent but apparently it will be Edman instead, we need something because to me Taylor struggles more often than thrives and Stewarts apparently a winger...

He sent in the cross from which the only goal was scored and nullified the threat from Boro's right wing so much that they tried an unfit Johnson to improve it. Apart from that I think he wiped a bogie on his shorts ,so get rid.

And what did Taylor do wrong yesterday?

Like Michael Tonge, his running style isn't the most asthetically pleasing which, obviously, means he is crap.

I think he's solid defender who is also decent going forward and is a good, cheaper alternative to Naysmith.

Taylor is getting better no doubt about it. He was good yesterday and very solid - something that you can't always describe him as being - but I don't know. I'm always on tenterhooks when someone runs at him or when he has the ball under pressure near our own box. I can't place it but there is summat about the lad that doesn't quite fit for me. Maybe it is his style of running!!!

Is Edman the one who smashed into the top corner against Scousers the other year in front of the Kop?

EDIT: Indeed it is. Clicky

He (Taylor) doesn't look nearly good enough to me and we need a replacement if Naysmith isn't back soon. What's more, Naysmith wont be around for long because is wages far outweigh his worth.

Taylor lacks the athletic ability to become a top player, IMHO. By no means useless, but we need to do better to progress. Further proof of his shortcomings is that Sitters likes him - and we know his record on defenders...:D

Very pleasing cross but can you honestly say that you have been impressed with him besides that cross? I know I cant.

The cross was great but I don't think he's good enough for the championship..

Another story is that Naysmith is due a loyalty payment as part of his contract if he is still at the club in the summer.

Seip gave Taylor a massive ear bashing when he lost his man and was caught in no man's land. He's not great, is he? But then again, should we expect "great" fullbacks these days?

No but perhaps we should expect full backs that can do a little more than supply a good cross. He is an awful, awful player. Edman would be ok. Dont think they will move Naysmith on yet though.

Taylor's very one-footed and clearly will do anything to avoid playing the ball with his right, which gets him into awkward positions at times. I was nervous almost every time he got the ball on Saturday.

Excellent cross, though.

Nine appearances in two years..............think we can afford to let this one slip through the net.

He would be a good edition but I think he would be too expensive. He has been given a 5 year deal to sign for Helsingborg, where he played when Helsingborg last won the Swedish Premier...

He was injured during his Wigan days but he is really a good player (of course he didn't have good day against Spurs but so what? Spurs fans didn't exactly complain when he scored that wonder goal against Pool...

A 31-year old who has managed nine appearances in the last two years. And people are moaning that we haven't signed him. An aging cacky player who isn't good enough for the mighty Wigan, for fuck's sake.
