Reading this forum always reminds me what a diverse lot we are.
Supporting the Blades means different thing to different people. Some just go for a pie n a pint, with friends, some enjoy baying and abusing the opposition fans for 90 mins, full of hate for complete strangers. For others it’s the excitement of seeing em play well, or the thrill of having something to celebrate when we score after a shit week.
For me, I’m getting long in the tooth now, but it’s still the same.I go to the Lane, as I did when I first went in the 60’s, hoping for the next goal, the win, the next win, promotion, and that Europe will be soon.I know it’s the hope that kills yer, and lord knows over the years it very nearly has.But I still have it, and deep down I suspect it’s still a part of all of us, no matter how well hidden it is for some.
Even now, I found myself checking the league table, after Wrexham lost, thinking a win on Saturday and the gap is just 7 points!I know, I know, it’s not going to happen, but, it’s an addiction. At the end of the season, I’ll start hoping we’ll go up next year, and so it goes.
Never stop hoping or believing Blades, it’s that which brings us together.
