Sheffield United Chairman Kevin McCabe said: “We are proud to host this event on behalf of the city and help raise funds for the victims of the earthquake appeal in Sichuan province where our club the Chengdu Blades are based.”

Tickets for The Legends: England v Germany are £10 for adults (over 16) and £5 for children/OAPs, plus booking fee and available by visiting the Bramall Lane box office or by calling Sheffield United on 0871 222 1889

The cup has been named the 'Derek Dooley Memorial Cup' :)

One lucky Sheffield business or charity will see their name up in lights on the evening of Thursday 7th August as The Legends: England v Germany - The Derek Dooley Memorial Cup take to the Bramall Lane Stadium pitch live on ITV4.

The Legends: England v Germany - The Derek Dooley Memorial Cup will see 16-man squads of former internationals from two of the world's greatest footballing nations go head-to-head in front of a global television audience expected to exceed the one million mark and one Sheffield business or charity will win a pitchside hoarding at the game, which would normally cost £2,000.

is robson playing for england???

I really do hope he does play for England, he'll get such a warm reception. Or booed to fuck.

I hope Carlton Palmer plays too, it's been a few weeks since I last launched abuse at him. I think he's changed his running route, the crafty bugger.:D:D

Classic!! Bet you're not the only one neither... suprised he's still living that end of Sheffield after all the years of abuse he's suffered...deservedly.

Gary Megson ran past my dad one morning... needless to say Megson not been seen around that area since!

Least we know we advocate abusing people in the street. ;)

Robson's coming back to the lane!

Published Date: 23 July 2008

BRYAN Robson will be back at Bramall Lane for the first time next month - and hopes the fans will let bygones be bygones.
Robson left Sheffield United in February after being relieved of first team managerial duties by Plc chairman Kevin McCabe.

He will return for the first time on August 7 to play for England against Germany in a Legends charity game, the sides competing for the Derek Dooley Memorial Cup.

Today Robson, 51, told The Star: "I am looking forward to coming back. I still keep in touch with (United director) Terry Robinson and will always wish the club well."

:( Dear oh dear!

Fantastic! I'm really looking forward to booing the drunken wastrel as much as I can. How much is it? £500 a ticket? Bargain, I'll have six please.

Say no more.

Cant Wait....!!!!

why boo him? alright it didn't work out for him at the BLADES but it is an ENGLAND legends match and even any of you can't say he wasnt good for England. Robbo is a thoroughly decent man and just change it to you being in his position, would you enjoy being booed while representing your country? For God's sake respect the man!!!!

He is indeed in attendance as an ex-england player and not the ex-blades manager.

It didn't work out and he's gone....

Why not celebrate the fact we have such a match at the lane, being played in benefit of the China Earthquake Appeal and for the Derek Dooley Memorial Cup?!?! That all these ex-players (including Robson) are turning out for the cause?!

I'd rather the attendees gave it the respect it deserves than use it as a vehicle to continue to slag off a man who is long gone.

well said Foxy
if ur not going to respect robbo then at least respect Del Dooley!!!!!

Im afraid the mindless eejits will probably outnumber the others on this one.

It wont look good on the club IMO

I should imagine a fair few of the fans will boo him prior to the game, but be behind him during the game
