Those Wednesday loving bastards at the council at it again I see

Admittedly the Mail is a god awful paper BUT I cannot quite believe that SWFC and Sheff council just tried to brush it under the table.
You have to wonder why?

Despite the lack of real intent from our club to tackle our issue on the Kop (Until more recently) we at least issued a statement and informed everyone of the findings from SAG and Sheff council.

Why it was deemed appropriate that SWFC and Sheff council said only minor adjustments were needed when in fact a further reduction of capacity in the stand is required is absolutely bonkers.

Well done Newcastle United for pushing to get this info released, it's put some eggs on faces here.

Which according to the article they had to do an FOI request for. It would help a lot if more Councils made the minutes of their safety advisory groups public. If you go to Newham Council’s website for example, you can see a full list of the minutes of SAG meetings they’ve held with West Ham over the past year. This tends to be far less common, and while there are limits to what’s in them it’s really helpful to see what’s discussed/recommended (and why).

On the Kop situation for example, it’s in both the club & Council’s interest to be transparent on what’s been discussed that led to (and has continued) the club taking the action it has. It’s even more in their interest when the issues reach wide ranging national coverage as has happened with that Newcastle game. It really shouldn’t have to take an FOI request to do. Redact any info where necessary for security reasons or where it’s commercially sensitive, and put them online.

Heard on the news this morning, that SWFC are now to challenge Sheffield City Council over the recommendation that the capacity of the Leppings Lane stand be reduced.

An entirely predictable response - given the character of the owner - which in essence confirms the media charge that SWFC remains a club completely lacking humility.

There is no way that Chansiri will stand for being told what to do by the Council (or accountants, auditors or the EFL for that matter). His approach is to throw money at lawyers on the basis that these regulatory bodies must be cowed, so that not only does he get his own way but, also, the regulators will think twice about taking any action against them in future.

As much as Chansiri often acts like a temperamental child, who simply can’t accept being told that he is wrong, I can’t help but wish we had some leadership at the club who would stand up to the Council, over what, in our case, is a far more justifiable argument.

The point being made that Heysel changed the name of the stadium is a good one.

Wednesday Should have changed the name of the Stadium back to Owleton after 1989, would have been a start at taking some responsibility and showing some humility

We've taken our own steps to reduce capacity to supposedly stop potential action forcing us to close more seats down.

The Pigs get told to reduce capacity and challenge it.

Not sure whether we're the sensible ones or too soft.

We know they're shameless scrubbers.

Anyone on the back 7 rows of kop renewed yet? Can they confirm yay or nay whether they've been able to? Rumour that box office have told someone the back 7 rows have to move first as they're closed for next season.

Again, just a rumour that needs confirming either way.

Are you the one starting this rumour?

Not surprised something like this has happened. Hopefully they'll do something about the lost revenue from the adults that get in as teenagers. The 2 blokes, in their 30s, that sit near me occasionally, love dropping it what they've paid and openly say they wouldn't come at full adult price.

I was able to renew my seat (standing area)! 😀

It’s bollocks. They are available for renewal.

Yes
And the only result will be.......that's right, less Sheffield United fans in another stadium

Seems to be just some Front and Middle blocks for the Wigan game - still not on sale for the later home games. Maybe a test to see how it goes?

Why no announcement of this?

Seems they're not on sale for the other games. Just Wigan.

Wonder if we can sell them "if" all other parts are sold out?

Some are back on sale. The Safety Advisory Group met last month, and additional tickets now available again. It’s not a blanket return to all areas being on sale – suspect it’ll be a case of monitoring the situation now that individual tickets are back through to the end of the season, and if the back areas remain normal reassessing after that.

The club really doesn't want to sell out any high profile games so they're making it more difficult for this to happen as ever.

I expect an announcement next week:

"The Club are happy to announce that if you were born on Shoreham Street between the 2 world wars, have a ticket stub from pre-1970 and have a customer number, then tickets for the remaining Kop seats are available for you to purchase.

Tickets will be on sale at midnight on 8th April and you must come to the ticket office in person but you have to arrive on a white horse with brown flanks.

We really thank SAG and the Council for making these extra tickets available to such a diverse range of fans and look forward to working with these two impeccable Sheffield institutions in future."

Can anyone help?

Need one Kop seat ticket for me and my two mates for Wigan game……

Sorry, but for the Wigan game its just the front of the kop, with a maximum of 2 supporters per seat who must stay seated the whole game.

If this initial rollout is successful, the club are considering extending the scheme to the back of the kop and allowing up to 3 supporters per seat.

We are also planning to pilot a new ‘stand in the gangway’ ticket at £100 per match, but this price does include 3 ‘fuck off’ tokens to be used on the match day stewards.

Simply hand a token to any steward and shout in a loud aggressive voice ‘FUCK OFF’ and they have to leave you alone. Telling a steward to fuck off while not in possession of a valid token will result in ejection from the ground.

We also have a limited number of ‘fat cunt’ and fat bastard’ tokens at £5 each but for the remainder of this season they are only available to season ticket holders at a maximum of 3 tokens per game.

Thank you, UTB.

Are there any steward specific tokens? I’m thinking of that elderly half a dwarf steward at the bottom of the Kop who will sprint a good fifty yards to try to wrestle someone’s arm up their back even if they are being led out peacefully after encroaching.

Just had a look, plenty of tickets available on the kop, including the back rows closer to the south stand. No tickets available in the areas that have been closed, but that's no surprise.
