I’m not employed to uphold them. But I do take personal responsibility by sitting in my own seat

Aye
So how does that equate with:
“It doesn’t really matter what they’re paid. Their role is to prevent events from occurring and uphold safety and if they’re not doing that, then surely this is the crux of the issue”

Surely the “crux of the issue” is everyone taking “personal responsibility” by sitting in their own seat & supporting / assisting stewards tasked with ‘encouraging’ this , not criticising stewards or, at best cocking a blind (& deaf) ‘un ?

I have a season ticket on row OO Gangway G where people stand around 20 rows from the back. When my mates who don't have season tickets want to come there is nowhere for them to buy tickets in areas that stand because there isn't enough space before people start telling you to sit down. Until these people stop sitting 8 rows from the back in every other Gangway this will remain a problem
Well the answer to that one is simple. Sit in the seat they've been allocated.

To me this should be stamped out by effective stewarding Are we not supposed to have high definition camera's good enough to identify people inside the stadium. It should not be hard to see who the culprits are that sit in other peoples seats. Get a bunch of stewards and Police in to eject them and hand them a banning order if they do it again put them through the courts. It seems childish to punish fans who sit or stand now and then in their allotted seat, as well as punishing fans who buy tickets on the day and do nothing wrong.
Should the kop get closed will SUFC refund me the money I paid for my season ticket? Seems to me like the stewards can't do their jobs if so get some what can.

Going to football is starting to become a chore what with coked up kids thinking they are ten men. This shit is not just happening in the ground either after the last two games there has been trouble in Pond street with a queue of 80 or more people waiting for the bus a group of youths think they can turn up and be first onto the bus. On both occasions it has come close to blows last Saturday was bad when these lads do get on the bus they say they have forgot their kids pass, no way are they 12 more like 15-16 with a few a bit older so then the bus is delayed while they argue with the driver who demands full fare rather than the 80p kids fare. I'm fucking sick of these little I can do what I want shitbags. The trouble is you snap one of the little cunts in half and it is you that is arrested and gets a fine.

There is currently a contest to represent Sheffield Central for the Labour party. Bramall lane is in Sheffield Central.

Below are the twitter handles of those labour candidates who want to represent Bramall lane. Be sure to find out their position on this, and whether closing the Kop for christmas is what Sheffield needs now, as the community recovers from the isolation of the pandemic, and deals with the affordability crisis.

It's not simple if you want to stand up & make a noise.
If you can't get a ticket in that area then you can't stand up for the whole game. It seems pretty simple to me. Nothing stopping them making a noise.

I'm quite happy to stand all game but my season ticket is about 15 rows from the back so I can't, and I'm fine with that because I'm courteous to those sat behind me.

well it’s tough shit mate. You/your mates/others want to stand up and make a noise in an area they don’t have tickets for and the club are having to stamp down on the rules because the people who issue the licenses say it’s unsafe and will remove the license to operate.

Your solution seems to be that people not breaking the rules should get the fuck out of the way to let you lot do what you want?

Not sure if Stephen Hawking will have fully decomposed yet. Maybe give his family a ring and ask if you can have any of his brain cells?

Actually, don’t. He couldn’t stand up or sing.

Well yes in an ideal world, people would take personal responsibility and be considerate of others. But then those stewards would be earning £0, an hour as their role would be redundant.

If they're now not selling matchday tickets for the kop that's already a massive step, and it's gone too far

Are the club really so powerless..... really?

How the hell can this sort of imposition be acceptable - even if there was a shred of justification

The cowardly individuals on the council need to come out and explain themselves on this

It would be a fuck sight easier to solve if they would just use the correct seats and (until safe standing if it ever returns) - just sit the fuck down!

So what you are saying is - cough - the selfish fans are costing the club money?

Sit darn……

They aren't hurting literally anyone. We have 15 season tickets all stood up. When there's 17 of us stood in 15 seats nobody even notices.
The council are creating a problem where there isn't one & the section where we are is the only real atmosphere in the whole ground, so people being stood making noise round us makes a huge difference to the atmosphere & according to Hecky, the team.
It'd be great if there was safe standing, but there isn't, so sit dahn in your own fucking seat, and stop fucking it up for other people.

Simple solution is to put the safe standing section at the back of the kop. And police it how it should be… i.e move people who shouldn’t be there.

Surely it could feasibly be done during the World Cup…

The fear of what happened in the past shouldn’t effect the future.

A bit of feedback. Your atmosphere generation is much appreciated

Also, some more feedback…… there actually is another area in the kop that also start songs and create the atmosphere. I know because both sections sometimes start different songs at the same time and sing over the top of each other and it sounds fucking mental. Neither section seems to be able to hear the other one and just carry on.

So it isn’t the only atmosphere in the ground. But still it is appreciated. However, just because I put my neighbours bin out doesn’t mean me and my mates can fuck his wife.

“But I put your bin out!!!!”

Funding. The elephant in the boardroom.

i disagree with sheff utd on the 1st part they should allow standing at the top of kop part. because it's part of the kop for as long as i can remember. & Really safe standing should be put in there. i dont understand why it hasnt been even brought up, as it would change nothing bar it being "safer" & it would keep the atmosphere because they are the core of our support they gets the rest of the ground going

but what i have to agree on, is if people arent sitting where their allocated, action has to be taken, especially in this city of all places. because if the top of the kop is the same as ive seen on away games. then it no suprise. as ive seen trying groups of usually guys in their 20's who couldn't or wouldnt buy together decide they are going to squeeze in, with no consideration to those who have tickets there & youve got 20 people trying to fit in a 10 person row. you end up with people spilling out on the stairs. ive been numerous away games over the last 12 years since i was able. blackburn last year was 1st & only time i was worried for safety because of that

It’s amazing, the ones who think they have the solution are part of the problem.

So you have 15 standing season tickets on the Kop?

Have you fuck

OK, so you say 17 in 15 seats isn't a problem. What about when it's 20 in 4 seats, as it is at the back of gangway D on the kop these days. And these aren't ST holders trying to get in their seats, these are "lads" who think it's fine to force 4x the capacity cos "I wanna stand wiv my mates innit?"

Do any of them give a shit when my 64 year old dad is getting landed on from behind by these "lads" whenever we score? My dad paid for his seat, he's perfectly happy to stand all game, and go nuts when we score. What he shouldn't be subjected to is the "LIMBS" brigade throwing themselves everywhere, arms and legs flailing, for the sake of an instagram video.

Its a well known fact that standing at the back of the kop has directly caused the death and injury of millions of wheelchair bound infants I for one think these infractions are far from effective. Anyone that dare look toward the kop should be castrated with a rusty glass cutter or even worse... forced to consume a battered burger from Man Friday.
