At which point did I suggest the embargo stopped us making payments? I didn't. Not what the post was alluding to.

"Imagine struggling under embargo to make player payments, for whatever reason, and the actions of your own fans are costing you towards 750,000 lost revenue."

Put a comma in there if it makes it easier to understand.

We are not making payments on time ✓
We are under embargo ✓
We need revenue to lift the embargo ✓
We have a situation ongoing which potentially curtails revenue opportunity✓

Calm down bitch.

“Imagine struggling under embargo to make player payments”

Your words. We weren’t under embargo until we missed a payment. It may not be what you meant, but it’s what you said.

Don't know if you actually saw the posts I made where I actually applied for a job at compass at Lane, but I did.

False name. No mobile number. Just left school. No CV or references other than parents. No previous job experience.

"Come for a face to face at Bramall Lane on the x of x. It will be 3 hours long. Bring ID."

They literally invited someone who had no experience doing anything.

Why would you need experience to serve food and drink at the lane? It's the very definition of a starter job.

"Come for a face to face at Bramall Lane on the x of x. It will be 3 hours long. Bring ID."

They literally invited someone who had no experience doing anything. When I responded with "when will I be trained" (with no punctuation for added effect) 'you will be trained on the day itself'. I don't know if they meant that 3 hour face to face or match day. I know that job isn't difficult but it just goes to show you why they're so shit. They're literally learning in one of the busiest roles there is while doing it. Can't be easy for some kid to do. And I don't suppose the face to face training would be exactly fast paced.

'customer would like a sausage roll, a tea and 2 bags of crisps'

The time limit on that should be 45 seconds at an absolute maximum. For maximum efficiency, there should be one ringing the till while the other fetches. Simple.
I saw it, I did wonder about their training, but a decent catering manager should be able to train someone in simple tasks pretty quickly. That of course is assuming they've got decent managers. Current evidence would suggest otherwise.

Spending on what? All money spent on food and drink on the concourses goes to Compass, the club don’t see any of it.
talking of which been on blut for last 3 games and at half time its absolute bedlam in the concourse on there queues for food and drink go right back to the wall and toilets are at either end takes you 10 minutes to get a piss

Does this suggest that our fans have stopped bottling their piss and lobbing it onto away fans below? Shocking if true.

I went on the BLUT earlier in the season and was actually able to get a pint at half time - and have a piss. Headed to the concourse a couple of minutes before half time, queued for 10 mins, got a pint, necked it, took a piss then back to my seat with 2nd half just kicked off. This was before the Kop ticket ban, I imagine it could be worse now.

So, we're now under embargo.

6 home games have passed since the announcement.

2k tickets unable to be sold at say 25 quid. So 50k per game. A cool 300,000 of lost revenue at a time we are being placed under embargo. You might argue a marginally lower ticket average but with spending in the ground also impacted it's probably higher.

To SAG or whichever group we are liaising with, how long do we have to be on the naughty step and lose potential revenue?

To those refusing to adhere to the rules of the stadium by not sitting in your allocated seat, congregating in more than one seat and blocking gangways (note, not standing in your own seat when match action dictates), was it worth it?

We're now losing thousands of pounds because of this. Nine more home games to come. So that would be a further potential 450,000 of lost revenue if this does not get resolved.

Imagine struggling under embargo to make player payments, for whatever reason, and the actions of your own fans are costing you towards 750,000 lost revenue.

We should be filling Bramall Lane to the rafters with the run we're on, edging towards a 30k second tier average. But we can't until this gets resolved.

Hopefully this can be fixed very soon and fans realise there are consequences to the actions we take when in Bramall Lane.

Have a look at our attendances this season.

https://www.s24su.com/forum/match-day/

The restrictions on the kop have made no difference at all, people are just sitting somewhere else and paying a couple of quid more to do so, maybe that means revenue has gone up which is why the club aren’t to fussed about finding a solution.

I'm not saying your maths is wrong, but attendances have not gone down, and BLUT looks a lot fuller than it used to.

Given our league position, shouldn't attendances have gone up by a bit more?

It is and you are correct - however, farming out this kind of work, to a ruthless agency, who has no care whatsoever to it's staff, the service and the customer experience, is unfortunately, the norm today. The staff feel unappreciated, get paid a pittance and then leave, the company has a high turnover and so has little interest in staff welfare. The staff hate the agency, the agency hate the staff.
I know it's not a full time career or has any hope for long term development, but would it really be a bad thing for SUFC to employ happy staff, in a nice work environment with decent pay, so the customer can get served in a 'happy efficient manner"?
Even if it's just pulling pints at half-time?

The problem United and Compass have is that catering staff who want a decent job, with a nice steady income and potential career advancement aren’t going to be found serving you a pie or a pint at Bramall Lane for 23 ish days of the year. They’ll be somewhere else.

Exactly SV. The job itself isn't very rewarding, the hours are irregular, and a fair proportion of the customers are total wankers.

It is however decent enough to get experience so that you can get a better job elsewhere.

Staff retention is always going to be a problem.

Both make valid points.

It’s a bit of a pity because I’d really have loved us to have been able to average 30k in the second tier. That would have been a superb achievement by the fans.

Maybe a pipe dream. We’d need 690,000 fans over 23 games. So far we’ve had 403,676 for 14 games. We’d need an average of 31,813 to achieve this now. We’d need 30,536 over the next 9 to average 29,500 and 29,258 to average 29,000.

Current capacity stands at 32,050 so with restrictions and restricted views I’d imagine the Hull game wasn’t far off being classed as a well out these days.

It’s a real shame some parts of the ground were built cheaply that we even have restricted view tickets. Hope there is a way to resolve this over time.

Anyway, I’m terms of turn out, our support has been tremendous this season.

Current capacity with restrictions on the kop is a little over 30k

I was sat on G block on the South Stand against Hull, and in front of me was a patch of empty seats, maybe 20-30. These are obviously comp seats or held back by the club, as there were no seats available on the South Stand before the game. It's a shame if these are not being made available, especially with the restrictions on the Kop

Current capacity with restrictions on the kop is a little over 30k

and we can only ever break 30K this season if the away fans bring about 2.5K fans.
The last few home games are against teams with fairly poor support.
So the weird thing is in our last few games of the season, as it stands even with a sold out home end
we'll only have about 28K, which would be below our current seasonal average.

Have you purchased owt from there for a while? Starter job is fine, monkeys can do it. Monkeys do it better.
Service whenever I use it is fine. The staff know what they are doing and are friendly, but perhaps they feel I need looking after because I am old !!

according to united site all tickets were sold in the central area on blut but must have been 25/30 seats round us empty 🤔

Depends what time you go and where you sit. Half time on kop - no chance. And that includes turning up when the shutters are still down at 335!!

Perhaps it would make sense to close at kick off. Do fans need a drink after 45 minutes of football ?

Why offer the service?

They do close at kick off. Re-open at 335. Close at second half. Its not about whether someone needs a drink or not (they also sell food you know), this is about the service being shit.

I'd rather have vending machines full of beer. It can be done. Just a machine churning out bottles. Tap the card (no cash), press how many, out pops your requested amount of beer in plastic recyclable bottles. Easy as peas. And still quicker than the gormy sods who face up.

I am no expert, but offering food and drinks pre match seems to make sense, but trying to do it at half time doesn’t. It would also stop the dozens of people who block the view as we run up to half time.
I would go along with your vending machine if I could trust all fans not to vandalise them.

It’s amazing what you can get away with pretending to be a silly old duffer. I like looking up short skirts going up the escalator, and that’s just the blokes. 😇
