i can't think of any suggestions as to who speed would have had as his AM if ellis was shown the door, maybe ellis will be around for the rest of the season until speed/birch find an adequate candidate?
i dont think ellis is the answer to a new revolution of football at the lane.he`s old school.fuk him of to the compost heap.a younger more enthusiastic no.2 would suit us better.mcall?shearer?o`leary?i`d even go far to say southgate.but not that old heap.anyway,im not moaning anymore as i think speedo will do well for us.UTB

Speedo is more of a coach then a manager at this stage. It's quite possible that Ellis will be taking on board more day-to-day manager stuff away from the training ground. The key thing is surely that Speedo is in charge of training, training methods, tactics and player selection and he will, of course, be bringing in a coach of his choice which suggests, again, that Ellis is assistant manager and not high up the pecking order in training.

Exactly how I read it too. It'll be more telling, now that Ellis will take the experienced part of the team, who Speed brings in as coach in terms of the likely style of play. Having Ellis there doing all the boring off-the-field stuff may mean another person that's not massively experienced will come in - perhaps the Pembridge rumours are true.

Maybe. Ellis was heavily involved on the pitch in the couple of trainins sessions I watched though. The trainings seemed very light with some 5 a side and shooting practice, unsurprisingly as we had a match the day after on both occasions. I was surprised at the lack of formation training (is that what you call it? working on defensive organisation on a full width pitch) though...
