we signed him from the argies a few weeks ago, can play anywhere across the back. looked solid when he played against us, why hasnt he been given a chance yet?

Dunno, perhaps he's still settling in. I'd be interested to get an update from someone on his progress to date

seems the right time for him to make an appearance, with morgan ruled out for the season and our worrying goals against total

Interesting this one. He supposedly signed on 30th September and seems to have completely disappeared, as Torrix says, not even a squad number, but then as we all know, the OS is hardly the quickest. Especially puzzling as quite a fuss was made at the time and, dear God, do we need him!!

Is he actually Argentinian? If so, maybe he was never granted a work permit. I thought players usually had to have so many international caps to instantly be granted a WP, possibly wrong though.

Another signing that will probably never see the first team but aim to improve relations with other clubs around the world with the hope that in 2030 we may sign the next pele on the cheap.

No shirt number means we are more likely to see Ryan France in the team than Parrino.

we would of cancelled the deal if he doesnt have a work permit, whats the point in signing a loan player that cant play for you!

This is Sheffield United don't forget, we don't quite get things right.......

He probably doesn't need a work permit due to Spanish or Italian ancestry.

Having bumped into John Carver on a night out, i asked him a few questions about the team and he was really honest about it and he said neither him or Gary Speed wanted to sign this Parrino.
KM signed him as part of this Estudiantes affiliation. He was on loan at a third division team in Argentina last season which is apparantly the equivalent of Conference football over here.
Anyone can look good in Friendlys just look at Ertl he looked like he was quality now he looks abismal

A textbook example of this club's sense of priorities.

Wouldn't suprise me if that was the case, the loan went through on 1st Oct and the OS didn't have any of Speed's thoughts on the player and why he's been brought in.

If he can't get into the 1st team squad with the limited numbers we have then there's a good chance he's not good enough. Seems a little like the Slavkowski (or whatever his name was) loan.

It is quite funny to read again the initial reports when all these players were signed and what they actually contributed to the team.
Has any other club ever signed a player for mainly commercial reasons? I can't think of any and yet we've done it time and again over the last few years.
I wonder how that "developing relationship" with European Champions Inter Milan are coming along?
Maybe Carly Barnes should be picking the team as she seems to be the one signing the players?

Did anyone hear GS on radio Sheffield last night with regards to Parrino - Reported asked if he is nearing a start GS replied saying to be fair there were no-one else to put on the bench and thats no disrespect to the lad.

Sounds GS doesn't really rate him. Cant see him playing more than twice this season.

Was Anyone At the Game Yesterday? how did he play?

He did alright really to say he was thrown in at the deep end. Looks like he's got a bit of pace too.

I am just glad to know that unlike Ryan France he is real and can play football as well. :)

Speed's assessment of him was that he had to toughen up before he would be up to the demands of this division.

I'd probably agree, other than the fact that the majority of our team also do :D

Looked decent to me, wasn't afraid to clear his lines when needed and was very good in the air against Iwelumo. The first 30 mins of the second half was probably the best we defended all game so credit to him and Ertl for that.

There's no reason why he shouldn't be stuck on the bench again.

The lack of height, power and athleticism in our team is glaringly obvious and is damaging us badly. It needs addressing immediately. These qualities are essential in a modern football team, regardless of style of play. The unbeatable Arsenal team was full of tall, athletic powerhouses who could play as well.

good to know, could have unearthed a gem here then? hahaha
