It's always noticeable but particularly so yesterday - we just don't seem to have any egos at the club whatsoever. Goalscorers running to the bench, Brooks going down for a foul then getting up straight away and nutmegging his man, 100% effort and a very professional performance with players clearly sticking to their roles, captain sitting on the bench laughing at 2-0 and looking relaxed, Duffy missing out on a start but scoring a vital goal and playing the role he was told to, Brooks getting subbed when he was on fire and showing the right attitude and being congratulated by the lads who missed out on playing.
It just seems to run throughout the club - Wilder is in charge and you'll do what you're asked, or you don't play. But when you do play, and play well, you're rewarded. Coutts' move from transfer list to captain in one season is all the evidence you need.
I just sense that they all want each other to do well and that they don't want to let their teammates down, let alone the gaffer or the fans. That is something we haven't had for a long time and Mr Wilder must take credit. He's changed the whole ethos of the club in a short space of time... and what a result it's had.
