The fact we’re 50/50 on it here, having had about ten minutes to think about it, means I don’t you can’t be too critical over his split second decision. He’s done it before so I do wonder if Wilder had steered him away from doing it again. No idea. But either way, I can’t fault him.

A point at this stage may be more important confidence wise than him being banned for a game. I was yelling him to bring him down.

Whats point him being available for the next game which we will probably lose when he takes the foul - we get a point.

To me we needed something for confidence. A point would have given us something.

Fleck's fault though - played like the lad Coventry fans thought they had for the last 6 months. Been garbage.

There's a fucking huge difference between the Villa one and that one. 78 minutes worth of difference.

I must have missed the bit where I said “that was identical to the one against Villa”.

Well , seems we are all 50-50 on this. I would say had we more defensive cover for upcoming games then yeah, whack him, but we dont, he made a judgment call there i think.

Nah. We can't afford to lose him. I thought he was our best player.

Our best player?

Egan seems to always get a free pass from our fans. It's another ball in behind where he's lost his man and it's a goal. Usually it goes over the top, but sometimes it's on the deck. Vardy did it to him last season too.

He's a great character, but I think our fans over rate him at times.

Imagine a back 5 of:

Lowe - Bryan - Jags - Bash - Baldock

Egan did the right thing.
Fact is we won't know if it was the right decision until we have played the next two.

Get some points (plural) or if those and it's probably the right decision.

Lose them both and it's obviously the wing decision (in hindsight).

Egan has played against Vardy 3 times and Vardy has scored 3 times. If you are not the quickest like Egan you cant get too tight and you have got to be goalside he doesnt do that and only one winner in a foot race I'm afraid

nothing to do with fleck losing the ball then, or basham on vardys first goal against us then

Steady on, we’ve gifted possessions to Maddison who then has the defence in his sight with no challenge, it becomes at that point a question of 1) can he thread the pass through for Vardy and 2) can Egan win a foot race with Vardy. We know the answer to 2, so as soon as the pass was good, it was always going to be a goal.

It’s not Egan’s fault.

Egan should have gone straight through Vardy. Or in the very least, pulled him back to save the draw.
if you think we are getting anything at Soton next week then you are off your tits.

Playing him on.

Done by a ball in behind.

Of course it's not solely Egans fault. But he's regularly done by the same ball when left one on one.
