Think you misread me Coatesy- I'm not at all saying the ones you have mentioned are rubbish far from it-

I'm more emphasizing they are inconsistent- whats fabulous about Egan and a core of others is they are consistent getting minimum 7/10 every time.

I love Berge on a good day- but in last 10 matches he's beeen very average at best- I want him to shine every match.

Don't really understand the criticism Egan gets. He's playing in the centre of a back 3, with his CB team mates to right and left further away than his CB partner would be if we had a back 4, hence he will have more ground to cover either side. He will make mistakes trying to do this, but on the whole I can't think of anyone I'd rather have in his position, (remember Jags 'rabbit in the headlights' appearances when filling in when Egan was injured in the Prem?). Morgan, Colquhoun, Jagielka, Murphy etc. wouldn't be able to play his position nearly as successfully.....
