This just popped up on twitter, JOC on target.

We should be finding out the EFL Winter Squad list in the next week or so, so we will find out on there if we will ever see JOC pull on a Blades shirt again.

I think we already know the answer but I live in hope.

He won't be. It would be nice to see though. Someone suggested he gets 5 minutes at the last game of the season or summat like that. That would be a full on tear jerker. It's awful what's happened to him. A £40m defender with plenty of England caps in him.

I'd class him as a legend personally.

That’s the end of JOC as a footballer it would seem. As rumours were he should have been back on the grass by January. That’s clearly not going to happen.

Whilst I like the sentiment there's nothing to suggest he's a good coach, or even has his qualifications. We've also paid him very handsomely for 3 years of doing very little so we don't owe him anything.

Hasn't OMB and JLT also come out and spoken about the impact he's had on them too? That doesn't mean he's actually a good coach, but if there's a job available it's clear that he's got the respect of all the lads and clearly has the discipline to succeed.

As I've said before though, if he gets a coaching role, he's likely taking a 80/90% pay cut at the very best. Takes a lot to get over that mentally and I highly doubt he'd accept that.

Not necessarily. There's two open spots and the EFL has the discretion to allow us to add him outside of a transfer window given he is already our player

I suspect he's been facing up to that being highly likely for quite a while so will have planned financially on that basis

It's always at the EFL's discretion, but theoretically yes, assuming we are not at the squad limit and the player in question is already ours or a free agent
