Not that I wish to get a reputation as a rabble-rouser, but there is an existing campaign to boycott any games involving the B teams in order to send a message to the organisers that this "pilot scheme" is unnecessary and the academy sides aren't welcome.

Now this is something worthy of a boycott. Not sure why anyone would pay money to attend this farce against fucking Leicester's youth team. It's the death knell for this competition. Bollocks to it.

whats really annoying is FL72 sold out for a measly one million pounds thats less than a months wage for Wayne Rooney
should have been a million pounds for each prem club at the very least

this is piss taking of epic proportions

This is what happens when you put Dr Evil in charge of negotiations.

Just make as many changes as we like and get the fine. Then set up a crowd fund page to pay the fine, the money saved by the fans not paying to watch this wank competition will easily cover the fine.

Agree with the sentiment but fuck paying the fine. McCabe and the Prince can pay it. I'm sure this wouldn't get included in FFP....

Withdraw from the competition. Publish an official statement deriding the competition for the insult that it is. Encourage other clubs to do the same. That's the only option.

But then the spin will be that "it's great experience for the young lads" what? Grimsby away on a cold winters Tuesday night? I can see a few young lads suddenly picking up 'Knocks' the day before those games
Are you fucking kidding me.

Are you seriously telling me that some of the 21s who have been at the club since 7 years old would not be desperate to represent the club away at Grimsby on a cold fucking night?
These are lads that have put 10 years into representing this club..... they would walk on broken glass to play in a match, whether at Grimsby, Hallam, Liverpool, Stocksbridge. Pissing it down with rain or snow or sunny and fine.

What you fail to understand is that it IS a 'great experience' for these lads to play competitive game and represent this club against other League teams.

I'm not talking about our academy lads getting a first team game in the cup, I'm talking the PL academy lads shying away from playing those games. Which I'm reliably informed already happens

The problem with that is we will still play in the competition and pay extra money for doing so, ultimately leading to not getting the message across and forking out a fine in the process, it stinks to high heaven mate.

It perhaps wouldn't be so bad if we were allowed to play all our youngsters but as it stands it stinks.

The FA are out of touch if they think fans will clamor to see Leicester City u21's. I really hope United and every other team treats this competition with disrespect now and the FA gives up on it completely. The idea of the trophy (in its original format) is okay but alongside both the FA and League cup it makes up too many games, and now we have a extra 3 games... but 3 extra games i ain't going too.
I spit on the FA over this! Stop treating lower teams with disrespect and stop trying to milk every penny out of us!

So I'll pay a fiver or whatever for the tickets, gain the loyalty points and say bowlocks to turning up for the match. I'm bound to have something more entertaining planned .........

I think SUFC voted for it actually

They've refused to say how they voted, which presumably means, as you say, that they voted for it. Personally I think it's pretty poor, given that we provide the club with most of its income, that they voted against the feelings of the vast majority of us, and then refuse to even admit to us how they voted.

I'd expect no less from United. More secretive than bloody North Korea.

There's nothing I find more dull than the off season and pre season.

Roll on August!

Temporary exile then.

Yes, roll on the new season, and all the new crap things it will bring for us to have some proper moans about.

I'm sick of having to pretend to care enough about cricket and politics to complain about them. Bring on the real stuff
