Seen a lot of people slagging Basham and Done off today, but for me EEL has been shite the last 2 games. I think he's a player who needs a leader at the side of him, so on that basis Jake Wright needs to come back into the side.

EEL signs 3.5 year deal at parent club, returns to club that have got him that deal and turns wank? Maybe he's got flu?

Was he at fault for the goals? Hard to see from the Kop.

EEL looked very anonymous and average today. He's good in the air but when teams play it on the floor he'll get beaten more often than not.

Can't actually recollect, when we concede I go into some fugue state and try to pretend it's not happened.
Sorry.
Conversely our goal and build up is crystal clear

Jake Wright isn't a long term option. But if we want to get out of this toilet of a league (without recourse to the play offs) then I think he's essential. Not the fastest. Not the flashiest. Certainly not the youngest. But he plays the game in his head (much like (the vastly superior) Paul MaGarth did for us in his short spell he was with us. We haven't lost with Jake Wright in our defence. He brings something to the team that we need.

I'm still laughing at the times when people said he's easily good enough for the Championship.

He's not very good on the deck but the way he plays suggests he knows that and the lad can't do what he can't do, which means the Manager and coaching staff know where/how to coach him

What like when Wright was dropped and he was made the focal point of the back 3? I see it, why can't CW?

It's worth noting that eel is playing as the "focal point" of the back 3 now Wright is out and I don't think it suits him.

EEL is ok and that's about it. No better than league one imo. We go again on Tuesday, it's better to have the points in hand rather than the games. UTB

A blind man could see that EEL looks 10x the player when he's got a leader like Wright at the side of him. Not picking Jake Wright is the one major thing that Wilder has got wrong and i fully expect him to be back in the starting line up come Tuesday after the recent horror shows.

EEL is no way near as effective as the spare man at the back, the whole defence looks much better with Wright in that position, with EEL and JOC just concentrating on attacking the ball.

Dodgy at Walsall as well...CW needs to rethink the whole defensive set up against some opposition imho. Otherwise we will keep being rumbled

Do we put a bid in then or not? If so, what price?

If we could get him for no more than £500,000 then he is worth a punt in my opinion. It became fashionable to criticism him but his signing was one of the turning points for our season, he is still only 23 and should continue to improve.

Was a great signing at the time, but since then hasn't shown himself to be better than our other centre halves. If we'd stayed in League One I'd have definitely wanted us to keep him. As it is now we need to be improving the side that took us up. No disrespect intended, but that means better than EEL.

Is he any better than Wilson?
In my opinion no, always seems to be on the verge of a mistake, sure we can do better.
