His talent and potential is obvious but when I've seen him play he's either been really good or anonymous. I didn't notice that much of a workrate either, especially when things not going his way. He seems more like a West Ham type player.

Wilder/Knill/Prestridge can sort that though. If signings have a flash of brilliance, strength, in pace, power, our management can get them fit and working hard.

I'm not on twitter, so I don't follow everything he puts out there. The quotes I see posted on here are just comments like 'wages a problem', or 'interest cooled a bit', which just feel like things anyone could say, but if he actually posts falsifiable ITK info and gets it right then no probs.

Alan Nixon is right more than he is wrong. People on here lazily label him a know nowt without having ever followed what he says (not just SUFC related).

Good deal for both sides IMO. £20m is the going rate for a high-end Champ player and it sounds like Palace won’t be having to fork out too much upfront.

With Villa, Fulham, West Brom & Leeds all in for him I would suggest that - yes, we can't afford him.

Transfer fee of £25m is one thing, but once one of those clubs offer £45k+ a week wages (which they can & will) we're out of the running.

Also, I can't believe that you have watched Brentford this season and still maintain a view that Watkins played anything other than centre forward. He is miles away from being a McGoldrick type link man.

Eze was much closer to McGoldrick in style.
