Just thought I'd give a shout out to the 3 lads with the st George's flag emblazoned with the words Eastbourne blades. They were sat just in front of me on the kop and were very vocal in their support of the blades which I absolutely loved. I know we already know that we have fans from all over the world!. but as a blade said to me yesterday in the pub, he's still amazed at the distance fans will travel to get to bdtbl. Don't expect many responses but just thought I'd give a shout out for blades everywhere. Utb

The fishing off the pier is ok, not much else going for Eastbourne (apart from the trips to BDTBL, obviously)

Well, obviously I have some fraternity with said town, for one I met Mrs. 1066 in an Eastbourne nightclub .30 years ago to this very month, can still feel the effect of that hurricane! Must admit I was not aware of an Eastbourne Chapter, must touch base, looking forward to this.

We travel from all over, have met Blades from many Southern towns.
Once a Blade always a Blade particularly if one was born in the great city.

Used to work in Eastbourne quite often. I remember driving into town one day as it was raining so heavily my wipers couldn't cope at full speed and passing a sign saying 'welcome to the sunshine coast'

I was born and raised in Eastbourne, made my escape though. It's claim to fame was having the largest concentration of old people in one town for the whole of Europe.
It also has the beautiful but notorious, for suicides, Beachy Head....just young people giving up all hope!
For Blades history, the guy who ran on and whacked the linesman in the Portsmouth game was living in Eastbourne.

Having been born in Kent, I moved to Little Common when I was five. You may be the only person on this forum, who knows where this is :)

I have recently moved to Shoreham after spending the best part of 10 years in Brighton. Proud to be able to officially call myself a genuine Shoreham Boy.

Respect to anyone who travels a considerable distance to support the blades. I have a 170 mile round trip to the lane but I wouldn't miss watching these lads for the world. UTB!

When I lived in the UK, in the late 90's, I lived in Eastbourne (Old Town). My neighbour, a professional man and woman, were absolute nutters. They eventually got an ASBO. They made my life hell. There was a Blade who lived near Gore Park Road. His car had a Blades tax disk holder plus a Blades car sticker. The town centre on a Friday, Saturday night was a Chavish nightmare. I liked it there and had it not been for my nightmare neighbours, I might have still been there.

I used to live in Barton on Sea near Lymington. That was definitely a haven for those of very advanced years. To make matters worse a pig lived next door. Mind you he hadn't set foot in Hillsborough for donkey's years!
Not set foot in Swillsborough for donkeys years. Not as stupid as some then. Actually typical pig fan.

Jesus, I never knew that Eastbourne was a hotbed of Blades.
Old Town had a great pub, The Lamb, when I was living there, probably a Travelodge now

Lived in Brighton for five years. Only left for work reasons. I worked as a Parcelforce driver for a while, based in Shoreham.

The Lamb is still pouring a mean pint of Harvey's, though has a distinct restaurant feel nowadays. There are better pubs in the Old Town but nowt stand out.

Eastbourne is an odd triumvirate mix of the elderly, the chavs and the foreign (either students or migrant workers). O and a few scousers on the run from the plod or Mr Big...

Makes for an odd mix of shops, bars, hairdressers and everyone being wary of each other..
