During the close season I like to.....

I expected that you would pick up on this one. I have tried, honest! I do admire your love for both sports though, and the excuse to toddle off around the world to watch it.

It all stems form the 6 week school holidays back in the 70's when all that was on daytime telly was county cricket, seemingly all day, every day. I wondered what the attraction of watching a load of blokes standing around doing nowt.
I hear what you say about Cricket "blokes standing around doing nowt". They're not of course. But I turn it 90 degrees. I'm actually sat there doing nowt - at which I am World Class.

As always, the Carrier Bag Firm are happy to provide three match trials for those who are in the waiting state. Once the Hampshire game is done this week, we're off to Portugal to watch England win The UEFA Nations League, then Porto to Bologna to watch England U21s win their UEFA EUROs. Six games in total if it all comes in. Then a four day close season before SUFC U23s kick off at Stocksbridge.

I spend a lot of time transporting my daughter to play at football tournaments throughout the summer. Two this weekend, managed to get my feet sunburnt yesterday.

Weird isn't it?, me and Mrs G went to the food festival in town yesterday, as we were walking around, at about 3.30, she said, "doesn't feel like a Saturday does it?", and I had to agree, Saturday afternoon IS football.

You must have had a sense of being at a football match if you bought any food there with those prices...…….

....Twiddle my thumbs while wondering if I could get into cricket full time.
Surely the club could offer some support in this lonely time by at least opening a helpline on what to do

Tried to get into Rugby League years ago after it became a summer game. Went to Batley, Dewsbury, Wakey. Like watching paint dry although went to Sheff Eagles a few times

Go and watch your local cricket club and drink copious amounts of ale whilst getting a good old red tinted English sun tan.
That's my plan👍👍
