English bulldog, JD.
Very well trained and impeccably behaved.
Not sure to be honest, I’ll ask him if I ever see him again, not seen him for a few years. Is there something else to this story? My mate is a copper and he reckons if the dog bites a burglar in the house it is extreme may unlikely the dog would be put to sleep. If the owner "set" the dog on the intruder he could face consequences under the "dangerous dogs act" but again it would be unlikely the dog would be destroyed.
Apparently a different story if on land or in the garden though. He said a dog could be destroyed for biting someone if the dog is loose and unsupervised on a garden or land (farm etc). He did say that this is still unlikely if it's a family pet with no previous issues.

It hasn't worked in Liverpool
Making drugs legal would slash the number of burglaries by at least half.
Did you see the recent report on conditions in a Liverpool prison, ex inmates complaining of squalor conditions. My only thought was... If all prisons were like that, it might actually act as a deterrent rather than a free drop in centre when you want free TV, food, and a bed.
It doesn’t work anywhere, except for keeping the particular individual out of commission for a while, but that’s a drop in the ocean. The idea that prison deters the criminally minded is a myth. When you need a ten pound bag, you give no thought to anything else.
It's not likely to deter them when they know they're out again in three months. It's is extremely unusual for someone who has served a significant jail sentence to be released and reoffend within a month. Conversely, your smack head burglar gets straight back at it, from the minute they're released until reconvicted.
As I'm sure you're aware, a very small number of burglars commit a huge number of offences and a significant sentence would soon see them all off the streets instead of the ridiculous merry go round the current soft sentencing perpetuates
Yes but lacing drugs with strychnine would slash them by about 90%. I know which one I'd prefer to see...
What's an Alaskan shepherd?Awful feeling, my mum and dad's got robbed just before Christmas about twenty five years ago when I lived there as a child and I still remember the sinking feeling of walking into the living room and seeing all our presents under the tree had been opened, they'd even eaten some of the chocolate out of a selection box. They'd smashed the patio doors in this instance and no doubt it was easy smack money for them. Soon after my mum and dad invested in a German Shepherd & funnily enough haven't been burgled since.
I have HD CCTV and a massive Alaskan Shepherd to hopefully put any would be theives off.
I caught two scum bags trying to snap the lock on my back door about two years ago whilst we all slept, luckily I'm a light sleeper. Didn't sleep for about two weeks after that.
What's an Alaskan shepherd?
I’m afraid that which you believe to be ‘extremely unusual’ is in fact an everyday event.
Burglars are sent to prison every day in every court in the land. There are always some spare to carry on the work the very same day.
A person sentenced for a third dwelling burglary is subject to a minimum term of three years imprisonment. Only the hang ‘em and flog ‘em and throw away the key brigade would think modern sentencing is soft.
InterestingIt's a cross between a German Shepherd & an Alaskan Malamute.
Disturbing when they sing isn't it ?View attachment 34596
Haha, he's 75% GSD, he looks like a GSD apart from his fluffy neck and his ears. He's a good looking dog but must people just assume he's a GSD.
But his Mal side comes out when he howls instead of barking, makes the hairs on your neck stand up.

If anyone has been burgled then I would suggest that the first place to look for their stolen stuff would be on the Facebook selling sites.
I’m absolutely convinced most of the stuff on there is stuff that has been burgled
He's an absolute stonker mate.View attachment 34596
